RE: Spanish Hi Jonathan, KZbin should auto-transcribe to Spanish. Give it a few more minutes. However, would this be something you find valuable? I have been thinking for a while to maybe put out some VFX classes, as well as videos specifically in Spanish. What are your thoughts?

For learning software faster one investment to consider is a 2nd monitor(or tablet or cast device) to reduce context switching. Not having to alt+tab between video tutorials and the software really adds up.
@ExacoMvm5 жыл бұрын
It's easy, just there's few simple steps: 1) Learn VFX programming to atleast advanced level. 2) Learn Physics and how in general everything works ( Data flow in 3D software etc ). 3) Have an good eye how certain VFX should look/behave like. And now MAYBE someone gonna hire you as a Runner or to do some background VFX that nobody will pay attention to or in best case scenario u will get to sculpt some rocks for a game. Then when your friend gonna play that game u will be like "See that rock ure using as a cover? I sculpted it!".

Haha I feel you Thing is 20 years ago that's exactly what it was like Now if you're good at animation you can get hired for animation. Good at zbrush, hired as a sculpter. It just makes me just want to give up. Then I remembered watching a 3DS Max FumeFX tutorial from Andrew Kramer and felt like hey I can actually do this. You gave me the confidence to use software that is comfortable for me.

I'm planning to release a lot of Houdini training soon with the focus being on ease of implementation. Because I do feel there is a lot of convoluted training out there I haven't been through Steve's stuff but out of all the training available, it might be advanced but I feel that's probably your best resource. The results I've seen from his training look great
@VincentG9914 жыл бұрын
Allan McKay Thats great news, over this past year i've come to really appreciate Steven's training (though really advanced)... I was really frustrated at first with how in depth things were to do some simple things. Any Houdini training you do I'd love to be part of, even if you did a redo of your building destruction training course or something similar in Houdini that would be fun to participate in.

I've been in the industry for about 20 yrs now. I'm self taught and did not goto school for VFX. I find that in life it's all about who you know and not what you know. Anyone can be trained to do VFX, just like anything else. If you really want to get into the industry all you need to do Is move to Canada and get your foot in any VFX company , your chances will be better up there. The more you talk yourself up the better your chances of getting a job. It's all about how you talk, your attitude and who you know.. Check out a few KZbin videos, learn the lingo and have confidence in yourself. You'll be a VFX sup sooner then you know. Good luck!

Hey Allan! Love your content. I am starting a film business at the moment. In therms of visual effects I started learning Blender a while ago (back then just for fun and because I was curious) and became somewhat familiar with it. I wanted to ask your opinion on the programm (I know its kind of a silly question) and how you see it useable for vfx. I so far only used it for short animations fun personal projects and architectural renderings, which in my humble opinions . But I found it rather difficult for vfx, as I couldn't find a proper or really useful way to exchange tracking data and other things with other software(Fusion, After Effects, Mocha). I now the software is only a tool, but I kinda fell in love with it (instead of Maya for example) and it is free/open source which really helps when looking at the subscription prices of other software. Thank you in advance. Greetings from Austria
