I have gone through a lot of videos to learn about Power BI even purchased a course. But when KZbin recommended your video, I turn out to a fan of your teaching, the way you introduced everything. Watching your videos for a couple of weeks and this is your may be longest video. But How it come to end tells about your teaching. Thank you Bas for helping everyone...

I knew how it all connects and ultimately how power BI is the tool to use. But I still watched the video. The way you explain it and get there is exceptional! Well done and I will share this with a couple people that need to understand that. It’s just so important and sooo much more motivating when you know the background … very well done! Thank you

Hello Bas, i'm not sure if you're mentioning it : in your video, you build from scratch a new data model in power bi via power query. but is it possible to *load* the previously build data model in excel/power pivot/power query directly in power BI?

Hi Bas, It was a pleasure watching your video! I’ve just started following you and learning Power BI, and I have to say, I’ve become a big fan of your work. However, I’d like to point out a couple of steps that I feel could have been approached differently: 1. In the “FcFinancial” data table, it didn’t seem necessary to remove the “Department” column (at 37:47), as it can later be automatically linked to the “Department” column in the “Department” table in the model view. 2. Instead of renaming the column “Department.1” to “Department” (at 37:55), you could rename it to “DepartmentKey,” which would allow it to automatically link to the “Department” table to “DepartmentKey” in the model view. I hope this feedback is helpful. Looking forward to more of your content! Best regards, Sushant (India)

We get a lot of data from third parties in the 'Data combined' format with no keys. Do you know the easiest way to reverse engineer the lookup tables (account, product etc)? Power Query seems to take a while adding the generated keys to the raw data. Sql works well but ideally I'd want something more basic. Sorry if its a bit out of scope but I've been trying to get something workable for ages!

I do have a question, (I'm a student from Finland), is it possible to combine real map regions into one, to create your own areas of interest on a map? I have managed to create my own custom map and drawn my areas onto it, that's all good and well. But, since these areas aren't "custom" or "made up", they are a combination of real world reagions, how could I for example, combine 3 western regions of a country on a map to make them act and respond as one single region and name that region "West"? I've been struggling with this for quite a while now, is there an answer?, is there already a video on it?

Hi I'm looking for a way to combine min and sum. I have a big table.with sales amount for every day and for different products. I want to sum the amount of sales by product by date and to find the date with minimum amound sold. For example for product A for the last month i have sales every day and on 10.10.2022 i have the least amoun of sales which is 3. I want to show in a table the least amound sold by date by product for every month from the beggining of 2016 until now.
@HowtoPowerBI2 жыл бұрын
kzbin.info/www/bejne/np7OZ4OuedmVhNU in this video it shows how to find the max/min
@di44ito2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, but i'm not sure that i explained what o wanted to do right. I have a row with 1 sale for a particular date and then a row with 2 sales for the same date i first want to sum this sales and then to find the date with minimum amound sold for every month from 2016 until now. I did the first part with a measure for sum sales amount and i showed it in a table by products and years and months and then used this table to create a visual. Now i have to get this total by date and show the date with the least amount sold and the amont itself. In excel i have done this buy making a pivot table for the first part and then copied this table and used it for a new pivot table that showes the min by dates for a particular product.

I hope that i explained it better this time. I'm just starting to use power bi in my job and i'm the first person to use it so pretty much i have to teach myself and i'm just a begginner and can't combine measures the right way yet. I tried to use my measure for sum in a new measure for minx, but it showed me the minimum for the whole period and not the minimum for every month.
