What I do this time for Open G is I take my Guitar that's tuned to Open E & put a capo on the 3rd Fret giving me Open G Terz Tuning.

This is the same tuning used by Hawaiians for Slack Key playing. Called it "Taro Patch" tuning. I wonder if Ry Cooder learned that tuning when he was recording out here in Hawaii. 🤔
