Melee makes ng+ simple. I go to Freddie's, pickpocket the syndicate key, and grab the epic wakizashi. Every run takes 5 minutes to be geared back up and cut down everything until I get a painblade. I don't need to rely on anything else. It's the one friend I reunite with in every run.

Good video. Mele is actually kind of OP. Damage goes higher than 100 on the V blade and with the right perks on it and skills you can just melt through enemies on any difficulty. Mele can be hard to get used to on a BGS game but once you do it's brutal. For a good mele build definitely plan on it not being real effective until you hit higher levels so you'll have to practice and push through. Focus on mele, stealth and wuest lines that focus on those two. Lots of availability and cheap buffs if you need them. I like heary+ for the extra tank buff.

Melee is only "bad" if you're playing on the harder difficulties. As long as you're on Normal, it works just fine

I still make it work on hard difficulty, I have Serpent's Embrace, Alien DNA and Wanted so my guy is just like a superhuman wailing on people while jumping around everywhere.

I can't help thinking some melee weapons might be level locked as I tried looking at the stores that supposedly had tantos and none of them do yet at level 7. The highest they go is combat knife.

My Va'ruun painblade does a nice 130 damage idk if thats because of my perks but it is fun just running around and 3 hit killing bosses early in the game XD

I've found all of these melee weapons and never equipped any of them, lol They reside in my ship hold and when I get round to it I'll sell them all. I'm a big fan of ballistic weapons as they feel right compared to the pew pew of lasers and the button bashing for melee combat.

Potential spoiler: Am I the only one annoyed that items don't carry over to NG+ at least let me keep the items I have equipped or even a 20mass container that I can fill up in the unity that goes into the captains personal locker on reset. Anything would be great at this point

they don't? Oh well NG+ doesn't worth playing for me then. What I heard from others NG+ only gives you a space ship and a set of spacesuit which I won't be using anyway. The thing I would be missing are the starborn conversation but what's the fun when I already knew all the possible outcomes.

Do you have proof of this? I’m almost positive melee weapons don’t get tiers. There was only 1 recorded video of a guy who had it and I’m pretty sure he just used console commands to get it

@@iseraph I did see a video where he said he looted it at a level 75 area. He didn’t say he used a console command. He also said there’s an even higher tier for it in the game files but supposedly no one has found one.

Yes that’s the video I was referring to. In the game files they have “superior” which is higher than advanced. Superior is only available on armor not weapons. No one other than that guy have ever gotten an advanced melee weapon therefore he’s most likely lying about how he got it. Probably just spawned it in and assumed it was available in game and didn’t feel like farming for it, not realizing that it’s actually not even real
