Dear Janeen, When my wife said this was stuck I said "Last time this happened we just threw it in reverse and it came apart". Which was true for the very top lid. This was a whole new thing. After jiggling, pushing, pulling, squeezing, turning, knocking on it, running water through, putting back together, taking apart, twisting, praying, and yelling at it... I was about to get the rubber mallet, "It just needs a 'shock' I said". Okay, to be fair, I didn't really think it would help get it apart. I just thought I would feel better after hitting it with a hammer. After a few deep breaths I decided to give google one more chance at finding an answer, and I was glad I did. I found your video! The way your video starts out with the same feelings of frustration made me feel very vindicated and understood. Than you for that. The video then continued on with the perfect solution. Outstanding info for those who have a Nama. But of course you have to be able to remove the top lid first, and if that top lid sticks also, then you are in trouble. My VSJ 843 sometimes gets stuck with the lid still on. I usually just run it in reverse before attempting to take it apart, and that sometimes helps. If top lid is still stuck, I then close off the cap on the juice nozzle, and then add water to the juicer and let it run a minute or so, then let it drain out, while still running. Once stopped, and if still stuck, just refill with water and let it run for a little longer before draining out the water and try again. Also try reverse again. Great info Jeaneen, with your Nama.

Hey Jeaneen! I had exactly this problem and couldn’t find a solution so, I wrote directly to the Nama team. As always they were super helpful and gave a couple of suggestions which unfortunately didn’t work for me. However, they also sent a link to your video which worked first time! I have the J2 and I sure hope I don’t run into this problem… I am so surprised that customer support wouldn’t just give you another one, I guess the issue seems to be widespread. At the very best I hope they’re redesigning their machine… Thank you for figuring this out for those who need it.

Yes, so this is the first model. They came out with the J1 which looks like this machine and it hasn’t locked up on me. Never had this problem with the J2 either

Hi Jeaneen! This is Day 3 my Nama juice chamber has been stuck on the base. Reached out to Nama of course they replied with some great Nama videos that didn't really help with this particular situation but learned somethings about the juicer (I gotta give them credit). Then I stumbled to your channel! I tried your method once and voila! Worked like a charm! So, I will be sending the customer rep your link so they can use that instead. This worked for us, but it took many, many tries -plus turning the auger in reverse as well! I will use Lon Hosford’s tip and apply oil to the shaft to see if that helps prevent it. Brilliant! Worked perfectly twice in a row now. Nama needs to change their FAQ on this which says it will correct itself in 1 or 2 days which means you have the task of trying to cleaning the canister while still mounted which is a messy inconvenient task and especially if you juice daily and more than once a day and want to consume the juices freshly made.

@@jeaneen2170 Well your solution works most of the time but as you know it is inconvenient and I found it often does not work on the first try. But I have found another solution. Applying Apricot oil, probably any food oil, on the base's metal shaft that inserts into the metal slot on the bottom of the container keeps it from getting locked. Perhaps it is the hardness in water used for washing along with the precision on how the shaft and in the slot are made to fit together creates the locking. Let me know if you try that and it works better.

Yes , going forward try taking it off the base while it’s still all together. Then when it’s on the counter, take it apart. This helps me ALOT

I have the original still too even though I got the J2 a month ago and dammit, I was plagued with those stuck issues. I used to thow hot water over it and twist it so many times for like a half hour 😅

Hi I just received my NAMA today and just came across your video I had no idea this was happening to everyone's machine, is this a manufacturer issue? For a juicer that cost $423.00 NO ONE n should be struggling to take it apart. I haven't even taken mine out of the box yet ,but if I struggle to disassemble it to the manufacturer it goes. How do you have this problem with the J2. The only way to get the J2 off is to completely remove it from the base which means it’s impossible to have this problem with a J2

I really wanted this to work for me. Mine has been stuck fir almost 4 weeks. I’m so sad 😞 is there anything else that I can do? I tried spinning it multiple times.

4 weeks?? Oh my gosh. Call customer service and ask them to send a replacement. You will need a new chamber and base. When you get the replacement start removing the chamber immediately after juicing, even if you aren’t ready to clean it yet. In the meantime while you wait on your replacement, watch Nama support videos, they have have a few different tips on how to get it off as well.

I don’t use my omega because with the comparison that I did, it only makes sense to always use my Nama. But the Omega had a good six-seven years with me. Oh and my husband figured out the Nama trick and showed me.

No solution I just place my dishwashing towel over it and pull super hard. The towel helps to not hurt my fingers

No, what I started doing is right after juicing, I take the whole juicer off the stand instead of taking it apart while on the stand. The second you turn the machine off remove it from the stand

@@jeaneen2170 ok, so, I think it’s because I left it for a week, so how I managed to get it unstuck was just keep turning it and then I heard the sound change, almost a louder sound and as soon as the louder sound disappeared and I turned it one more time, it just came off!!! Maybe something was really stuck! Man I wish I looked up your video sooner than sit there and worry for a week! Anyways, THANK YOU for saving my Nama, I live in the UK so the support isn’t that great

It’s possible but I have another video showing how to get the lid off and people ask how to get the base off in the comments. Plus this video people are saying thank you so I know I’m not alone. Knock on wood so that yours won’t start locking up 😂

In the beginning, mine never got stuck. But the last two times I used it, it got stuck. So maybe there’s just a few lucky people who don’t have this problem because I have seen way too many comments of people complaining of the same problem. The Nama is a great machine but that crap is super annoying.

Put it back together Turn it on then run it in reverse. Then turn it back on to forward Do it a couple times. Then try to take it off while completely together
