Do you pretreat slate before printing. I have tried printing on to slate and ink bubbles up if it gets wet

We do use an adhesion promoter. GM-1 from Mimaki. The bubbling could also be caused from the type of ink you are using!

Yes! There should be storage maintenance steps in your printer's manual.

Nice video. I'm planning to buy (a chinese) uv printer, and one thing I worry about is uv printer prone to clogging? Thou I'm not sure if I'm going to have a continous printjob with uv printing, I just want to add this to my existing services. Any tips on caring uv printer? Thanks

Direct printers need be used or go through a cleaning cycle every 3-5 days. They are very prone to clogged heads when not used consistently. The cleaning maintenance is specific to each machine and it ranges from day to day care to monthly to yearly maintenance. Hope this helps!

The Mimaki UJF-6042 they are using has a circulator pump for the white ink to make it way less likely for the white pigment to settle. If getting a Chinese printer, always aim for one that has such a system.

You will just need to use a normal primer for plastic. Such as GM-1 UV Primer from Mimaki. I'm not sure if this helps but if you give us a call at 855.537.2228 we would love to help you further!
