This is great, thanks for sharing. I like the front mount but when I tried I attached it to the boom and it interfered with jibing. Raising it with a fly mount keeps it out of the way - brilliant. I also like the clew mount. Those two shots are nice enough. You can get drones now that will follow in strong wind. Looking forward to you trying that!

Self-follow drone tech really isn’t good enough yet…hold fire on that I think! But may use a local pilot friend to film some for this summer. 👍

Thanks for that video ! I watched all your tutorials and I am starting to feel the improvements ! I just bought the insta360 and the flymount. However I mounted it on the wishbone and with the unicorn helmet extension. That does not really work. I will try your set up with the bike extension next summer !

Great video Cookie! Thanks so much! Just a shame (though subscribed) I didn't get a notification when released - all good though as found it now but KZbin algorithms are a mystery to me... I will definitely check out the harness mount you use as my homemade one (washed up broken fishing rod and plumbing fixtures... 🤣) with a Insta360 OneR only has the one position. The option to vary the viewpoints looks amazing. How do you find the swing-weight of the harness mount? Perhaps my fishing rod at 120cm is too long hence feels wobbly, until I get going at least?

I use a loop of material around my neck, usually just under the rashvest. I then use some simple filters to ensure the quality is as good as possible!

I'm getting ready to use this setup & am wondering about clearance during a tack. You've got the camera on a mount sticking out 30 cm from the mast. Does it swing over your head or is the mast far enough away from you that the camera mount clears? Thanks!

You can put it higher and it’ll easily clear your head if you like. But best views are lower down and you just duck/get out of the way as it swings round!

In Vass at the moment and my footage is not as good !! Good day today on a 4.7 I used the fly mount with GoPro 7 will now have to try moving the mount around I usually just have it on the front of the boom but will try just above in mast with an extension maybe so I can pull from side to side. Do you leave the mount slightly loose enough to swing from tack to tack ?

As an advancing winder surfer that falls a good amount what would you say is the safest place to mount a insta360 cam without loosing it in the water or braking it? I also can't find a float mount for it. It is quite heavy compared to my old GoPro.

Just above the boom, on the exposed mast, using a FlyMount. Add a safety line, use some tape! Weight is because it does so much more than your old GoPro!

i get water condensations under the protective add-on glass cap of the insta360 lens, and that fogs up the video! do you experience this issue too?

You can get droplets that prevent this… however I’ve never used them or had this problem!

Super interesting that little mic is amazing. Son gave me a GoPro handle bar mount which I line on the boom. Love the extension arm view coming off front. Can you swing the fly mount on vertical axis from 90’ to 270’? Just thinking how you could use a GoPro from one side to the other. Love to get to vass one day from oz for a week of blasting and tuition.
