But how do we know what the correct skin tone is, especially when you don't have a calibrated monitor? In video editing tools, you have the skin tone line, but what about Lightroom? It's all about eyeballing and i am facing this issue now for a couple of years but no feature like the skin tone line is coming...

Yes, I agree it's so frustrating. In DaVinci Resolve, you can usually just move the offset colour wheel a bit and move the faces onto the skin tone line. There are also add-on tools that will turn on an indicator show where the faces are too orange or magenta. I am considering moving from DXO Photolab to Lightroom to get more help with skin tones. At the moment, I use an Excel spreadsheet with columns of red, green and blue values. I set R = 1.5 x B and G = 1.15 x B. Then, I put the dropper over the skin and compare it to the spreadsheet - very time consuming, but it seems to work reasonably well. I hope I have the parameters right!

@@rushbeverytime Even if that was the answer to the question, I don't think a customer would pay for the time spent on thousands of images :D But definitely a funny thought or maybe more of an iPhone ad? ;)

Creators should actively encourage Adobe to improve Lightroom with professional-grade color grading tools. Relying on "eyeball it" tutorials isn't sufficient for consistent, high-quality results. The viral "black and blue or white and gold dress" debate highlighted how subjective color perception can be-accurate color tools are essential for reliable, professional outcomes.

Do you have a video on getting proper skin exposure (vs tone)? Trying to find a good video on what some standard exposure levels are and what I should be aiming for in terms of brightness on the skin. Any info would be helpful.

Man, I love how refreshing this video is - Love your studio setup and how this video is shot - The colors. Feels so refreshing, thanks for the tips man :) a fresh perspective is always so helpful, I noticed the new features on Lightroom recently as well but this definately makes me want to experiment more.

Thanks for the vid! May i ask why after creating the mask, one needs to do the extra step of using "point color?" Isn't there a mask already? Sorry i'm new to photo editing 😅
