I boil my dish clothes in washing soda & green bleach. Rinse well then toss in washing machine @ 20* echo wash. Line dry in sun, perfect every time.

If you are sure that brown/orange stain is fruit / tomato etc, trying the cĺoth across a deep heatproof bowl. Boild some water and stand as high as you can get above the bowl and pour the boiling water through the stain. I don't know why you need to stand on a chair but it makes a difference. I even got well dried on raspberry stains out of a loose chair cover with this method.

I have kitchen towels that have blackish marks on them. I think it's from drying cookware. I have not had any success with any of the methods you've mentioned. Any ideas? Thanks for a great video.

Try baking soda with a little soap and water to make a paste and a scrub with a fingernail brush or something similar. The baking soda will help soak up the grease, the soap helps break it down. If that doesn't work, once it's dry, scrape the powder into the trash, and then this will be counter intuitive, but put some oil on it. Like cuts like, so oil cuts grease. Once it breaks up the grease stain, scrape off any excess, then soap, then baking soda, rinse, and wash.

You'll want to avoid harsh chemicals when treating stains on linen--they can damage fibers. And never use hot water--just cool or slightly warm. If you don't mind up to 10% shrinkage, you CAN use the dryer on a low setting. But I never do. I just hang the tablecloths, napkins, and towels over the shower curtain rod until dry enough to iron (if needed).

The point about the water in the washing machine not getting really hot had me thinking. The temperature on our newly installed water heater is set to 50 degrees celsius. I have an around 18 month old Haier top loader, lovely machine mostly. However, if I set it on a HOT wash it will fill 3/4 of the way with water from the hot tap then stop and fill the rest of the way with water from the cold tap resulting in a barely warm wash. I've tried leaving the cold tap off while filling the machine for the wash cycle to see if I can actually get a hot wash but when it gets to 3/4 full it stops and beeps loudly until I turn on the cold. What's the point of have a hot setting when the machine won't let you wash in hot water?😡

Don't let them get so dirty in the 1st place my tea towels are only used for drying dishes and changed daily and always washed on a hot wash ,didn't need someone to tell me the obvious!
