I agree with you on the Squier Affinity Telecaster. Great guitar. I have that same butterscotch like you and just got a competition orange version. So comfortable to play. I have Gibsons and Fenders, yet reach for this more often.

(continued) and front mounting the speakers vs. Rear mounting, as well as open backed vs. closed back cab. These are options that Fender and Marshall chose to do differently, and contribute to the differences in their sounds...plus they're really easy ways to change your sound , provided one " gets" the wiring right...thanks again and rock on.

Here's some info from the Mark III manual. Your amp treble shift probably works just fine: The TREBLE SHIFT is one of the programmable controls. When pulled out, the effect becomes linked to the footswitch control buss and automatically increases the upper-midrange drive in the Lead Mode only Treble Shift has no effect in either of the rhythm modes

Nice video Johan! Being a Mark IIc (no +) user myself, I'm happy to see you enjoy a Mesa Mark series too! I find that the Presence knob on the back is one of the most powerful tone-shifting tools on these amps, and most people don't even mention it. Most people run it quite low (0-3), but I typically run mine a little higher (5'ish) to get some sparkle at the bedroom volume I'm playing at. Not too high because then it becomes harsh. Besides the EQ, maybe you too can get some more sparkle with the Presence a little higher?
@JohanSegeborn2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Lando! It was set to 7-8. I forgot to include it in the video. Strange to put it at the back!

Aloha, Johan... Thanks for sharing the research and the riffage. Your opinions and comparisons are very important information, but I'll say it's hard to find a bad sound at all with you playing! I worked for a band that had two Boogies, a Mark I combo and a Mark III head and cab. Got an awful lot of mileage out of letting other guitarists (try) lifting them. Maybe they had the EVMs, besides the big transformers. The drummer had Sonor shells that were about ten or so Centimeters thick, and once another drummer tried to lift those but he fell into them instead. 😸

Great video! Ithink that I like the tone of your guitar better than KRs. I just wathched Stones official video of the song, and it looks like KR had a special SHS mod configuration in his Tele, which might explain the somewhere-between-single coil- humbucker-quality sound?

Brilliant! Pulling the bass knob definitely gives you that warm mellow Keith Sound!
