Actually there is some truth to what you're saying, it's more of a psychological effect though, in the same way that if you enjoy something you're gonna perform better, and for some people if they're characters look better they play better, it might not be true for everyone, considering some people don't care much for transmog, but in some cases, as you say "when it looks fresh" you do perform better because you enjoy playing it more.

To get those red shoulders to drop, you must kill Princess (I think she's blue and has heals) last. Which of the three bosses to die last does affect which loot table is used. Look em up on wowhead too.. Some more info there.

Hyperion armor is a level 60 green BoE collection of drops that drop in vanilla areas like MC and BWL. They match the shoulders and have a deep red barbute helm. If you want to go old-school Tyr's Hand style, you need to be a paladin and collect the Legion legendary helm. That matches the original paladin helm/scarlet crusader helm

Hey Asmongold, can you please do a gold guide for the prepatch or the start of Legion? As the prepatch/Legion has made getting gold from Garrisons and grinding cataclysm dungs almost non-existent, making it way harder (at least for me) to grind gold on a daily/weekly basis. If you have Harods old shoulder (pre mop) it was turned into a plate piece in the pre patch. If not the drake talon shoulders (Forgot the exact name) from the 3 smaller drake bosses in BWL is the same piece but on both shoulders. The bloody bandana from the tavern/inn quest also looks good with it, being similar to what the oldschool Mograine boss wore in SM Rocking these on my pally until I get the ashbringer, its a good time.

Only plate eye patch that I know of is the one that drops of a mob from tbc shadowmoon valley it has a purple tint to it.

From Vanilla to 5.0, it was dropped by trash mobs... when 5.0 came out, it was removed from the game (briefly)... but returned in 5.1 on Herod as a rare boss loot drop.

You do understand how percentages work, right? Just because you got a 1% drop on the first attempt doesn't mean it's not a 1% drop... it just means you're luckier than most people... also, 1% drops aren't cumulatively increasing in odds... it doesn't mean that if you run it 100 times, you're guaranteed to get the item (cuz 1% x 100 = 100%, right?). As a guy that killed the LK well over 400 times to get my 1% Invincible drop can assure you... 1% is 1% (while my GF got Invincible after 5 tries... no, the % of drop didn't change, she's just lucky).

+Mithrennon of Aegwynn That's not how odds work. At some point after hundreds of tries, you'll get an almost guaranteed chance of getting the mount. The best way to calculate it is to take the chance of you NOT getting the mount (0.99/1) and multiplying it by the number of tries you've had so far. For example, if you had 400 tries on LK and the drop chance is 1%, that's 0.99^400 = 0.017. Now, this represents the chance of it still not dropping, so reverse it and you get 0.983, or 98.3% chance of dropping on the 400th attempt.
