This whole time I thought that glass panel was for film negatives or something. Anyway, I cleaned that panel with a little bit of glass cleaner and no more lines. THANK YOU!!!

good morning dealer and ricoh machine service .we have. a problem with an aficio ricoh 3025. The machine, even if it is ready with the green start light, not only starts, the scan always runs and does not stop as it happens when it feeds the toner but in fact the toner light is not on. Could you give us some suggestions, thanks

Cleaned mine and still have line, but the line is vertical at the tip of the page.

was using a Ricoh Aficio MP C4000 for photocopying but after I changed the black toner, I am getting only blank pages. Can anybody help me with it. Thank you

We don't have an issue with our ADF, but we get a lot of streaking when we scan something on the platen. The lines always appear, and they are always vertical, not horizontal.

If the fix in our video didn’t work for you, the problem is most likely something internal (our best guess without taking a look at it is that your drum has a line on it). We recommend you have a technician come out to service the machine if you have that option available to you. Good luck!

@@RKBlackIncOklahomaCity - Thank you for your reply. However, it's not the drum. If it was a printing issue, I might agree, and I could change the drum myself. But it's not a printing issue, it's a scanning issue. Perhaps I should give you a little background on my experience with printers. Several years ago, I did all the digital printing for a print shop, using industrial sized Canons. I'm not a copier tech, but I did learn a lot about those machines from the Canon tech we called in from time to time. He didn't mind teaching me a few things because he was paid by contract, plus it was about 1½ hours round trip for him to stop in for a service, not counting the actual time spent servicing the machines. Even though we weren't charged per service call, time is money. If we had to wait for the tech every time one of those machines went down or wasn't producing perfect results, the cost of waiting for a tech would have been more than paying for a service call. Keeping those copiers running 40 hours a week, there's no way we were about to call the tech just to have him change a drum. We kept those things on hand, I knew how to change them, and I knew when to change them. Now, back to the issue at hand. As I said, the problem isn't with how it prints. It's how it scans. The drum is not the issue, because the drum is what transfers toner onto the paper. If we print something from the computer, it's clean. If we scan something to pdf, the pdf has vertical lines in it. As I said, it's an issue when we use the platen, but not the ADF. I believe a hardware malfunction could be the culprit, but was hoping there were other things I could try myself, such as a black and white calibration, if this is possible with the Ricoh. This is something I would not have thought of until last week, when I discovered that doing a black and white calibration took care of a similar problem we were having with an ID scanner that scans in color, grayscale, and b&w. However, when I search for a way to do a black and white calibration on a Ricoh, all the results are about color calibration, so I don't even know if it's possible or not. Where I work now, our printers are for office use. We have our own IT department, but printers are not their specialty. In fact, I am quite certain that I know more about printers than they do. In addition to not having a service contract for our Ricoh, security is tight where I work, so getting clearance for someone to work on it would be an issue. It seems to me that you have no idea what is causing our problem, but I will still leave this comment here, in hopes that your video will attract someone who can help me figure this out. @@7wiiskate if you scan a document to your computer or email, and the digital result has streaks that aren't on the original, it's not the drum, because the drum only affects printing, not scanning. If you print something from your computer and the print has streaks that aren't on the file, it could be the drum. I hope I explained that in a way that makes sense. If not, let me know, and I'll try to clarify.
