How to Get to New Austin as Arthur with No Invisible Snipers - Red Dead Redemption 2

Simple tutorial video with using Angelo Bronte, A Man of Honor mission to freely explore New Austin as Arthur without having to worry about the Annoying Snipers.

Man they really should've just let us explore New Austin and Blackwater as Arthur. For a game that tries so hard to be realistic, it's dumb that they just have thousands of lawmen spawn in the middle of nowhere, and a l33t hax sniper that can hit you from anywhere to hunt you down to prevent you from exploring it. You should be able to walk around as long as you don't get caught or evade the law long enough, like any other area on the map.

And the fact that Arthur has bunch of unique dialogues in New Austin like clearing out the gang at Thieves Landing, I feel like it's such a waste, the only way we can explore new austin in free roam now, is to use mods but I'm a console player myself.

I would have rather have played the game and have Arthur say “actually… I don’t think I want to travel into that part just in case” and turn around automatically. It’s the fact that there are ways to bypass the sniper and lawman that people want to xD

Tried this and yes it still works. You can hunt and fish but no legendary animals and you cant collect dinosaur bones. I suggest doing this when you play the mission for the first time on your playthrough. Replays won't save what you got from new austin just a heads up.

If you ride PAST Angelo Brontes mansion after doing these steps john will go to dutch and wait for you. And if you do that he wont follow you to new austin.

Yes, this still works, but you have to get the Wanted first, and then lose the lawmen on FOOT, after losing the Wanted and the Search, you can now call your horse and start riding to New Austin, do not call your horse when you're Wanted or when the law still Searching you, just lose them on foot. You still can go to New Austin, however, the invisible snipers still can kill you if you lose the law with your horse first, so don't lose them on your horse. But you have to bring John to New Austin to do this exploit since you're losing the Wanted and the Search on foot, do not leave him at the mansion, just be careful when you take him with you, but I only got the OM revolver, clothes at Armadillo and Tumbleweed, and some gold ingots from the Ridgewood Farm and the scarecrow hat, so I have something to do with John in the epilogues. I did like 3 tries to find this out. PC May 25th, 2023.

For anyone wondering you CANNOT hunt legendary animals, get any herbs, collect dinosaur bones, or fish for legendary fish as well. You CAN get collectables like looting bodies, opening chests etc, Otis Millers gun, and Ram skull mask etc things like that. NOTE: you must do this on a regular playthrough (not as a mission replay because nothing will save on replay) glitch still works on replay but nothing saves so its pointless.

You're as lousy a driver, rider and shooter as i am.. and you can run as good away from the lawmen as me...i like it!. It's sad that we have to resort to these tricks when a gunman as great as Arthur is, he could not simply outrun, outsmart or outstealth the Blackwater policemen, Pinkertons and an "invisible sniper"

Confirmed that this still works as of 04/27/23. I unfortunately just replayed the mission and ended up finding the Tiger Striped Bay Mustang. I tamed it, and finished out the mission, but it seems that the horse wasn't saved. Im going to attempt the same with an open slot in my stable which I forgot to do. Like a dumbass.

Result! Upon loading an older save point prior to the Angelo Bronte mission, I had no trouble at all. After finding the Tiger Striped Bay Mustang again, I was able to tame it and even picked up some gila monster and peccary pigskins on the way back. Since this one was not a mission replay, I was able to sell the hides to the trapper and also clear my bounty at the nearest post office. Then it's just a matter of finishing out the mission, then when the gang starts celebrating Jack's return, you can ride the mustang to the stable of your choice and stable it. Hope that helps someone. 🫰

I tried this the other day; but as soon as I was exiting Saint Denis a prompt saying “mission failed: you left John behind” came up. So I wonder if maybe they just patched this? 😣 It also could’ve happened bc it was my 1st time doing the mission in story mode though. (as opposed to replaying the mission after initial completion like you did in this vid.) Not sure. I’m going to try again and see if it works for me this time. Edit: spelling error

That's a good question, I never actually tried to draw sketches but I think Arthur can discover things and write them.

i really want to get all fossils and herbs as arthur so ive been using the saint denis wagon. unfortunately i give up after 3 tries everytime because it takes 10-15 min just to get that wagon and then everytime i get to that one point i immediately get sniped through the wagon even though i have the camera in free mode. its insanely frustrating to not be able to pass a point because of this. i really wish they would patch it out already...

For everyone wondering if you can do herbalists challenges and collecting stuff. No you cannot Collect any plants or weapons or any item if you do this mission replay.only if it’s your first time going through the mission iv tried doing herbalist 9 and no plants were there and I’m assuming same goes for Otis miller revolver. Someone might have to test first time playing through this mission to see if you can collect anything but I’m fairly certain you can’t

You can get Otis millers revolver, the ram mask, the trinket in the del lobo camp. (Turtle shell?)

@@anon4854 No. you could at one point, but not now. To do the herbalist 9 and legendary animal (buffalo only)you have to use the buggy. Don’t do what I did. I used the buggy and killed the cougar and pronghorn and the pelt never showed up. After I searched the internet those have to be killed in the epilogue. I did A LOT after the ledge dart in New Austin and had to restart at the Angelo Brontë mission. But do get the trinket, ram mask and Otis Miller handgun.

I can confirm, for having tried this method recently (in 2023), that no collectable plants will spawn in New Austin during this mission, which effectively makes it impossible to complete the Herbalist challenges.

To do horseman 9 start a bounty mission capture bounty hog tie him put him on horse then do horseman 9 no law sporn in great plains after you complete horseman 9 then turn in bounty can confirm this works did it my self yesterday 24/2/2023 hpe this helps and you dont need to go to great plains for the hungarian halfbred as ive found a hungarin halfbred sporns in big vally hes brown with white main and tail completed horseman 10 to day 25/2/2023 👍

Just use 2 mods. Free roam Blackwater/New Austin/Guarma/No invisible sniper. Then u can do some challenges. Early from chapter 2.
