I'm 64 5'10 173 and love lifting. But be careful as I tore half my right bicep and damaged both rotator cuffs pushing myself doing farmer carries 2 years ago. Now I had to give up deadlifts, farmer carries and any heavy shrugs. But lighter weight higher sets and I haven't lost anything, except some bicep size because I don't push them at all. But I'm hitting my legs harder now.

I’m 76 and I love doing x body hammer curls with an arm blaster as it isolates my elbows and keeps me stricter. I realize I won’t put on much size to my 15.5 biceps but would love to hit 16”.

I've been training over two decades. Just recently I've come to know how much the slow eccentric helps to stimulate muscle growth. It's not just time under tension. It's really how the fibers react to the slow eccentric and explosive concentric. Just be ready to decrease the weight you normally use. I'm glad to see how many people are stressing this training principle.

Gary, I am a member of Fit after 50 and Live Anabolic and I have heard you numerous times say if your a man over 50 you can still build muscle but what about a man over 70?? I have been working the Fit 50 program and even though I have had success with losing weight, reaching my goal weight, gotten in good shape and put on some muscle. I struggle with trying to build any substantial muscle? I have been fasting for the last 9 months and I am sure that has helped with the weight loss but I still want to know if it is really possible for a 71 year old man to gain muscle without the muscle soreness that I am having? Thanks for all your videos

LOL 😂, you don't need to " fast " to lose weight. Eat more meat and drop the carbs and let your stomach shrink up a little. Ps. I'm 64 5'10 173 and if my muscles don't get a little sore .... I didn't workout hard enough. Do each body part once a week. That way each body part has plenty of time to recover.

I read that with normal bicep curls the brachialis already does most of the work, the biceps only 30%, so for widening the upper arm you'd have to focus more on the biceps, for example by supinating while doing the curls.

Nice video man, you explain the exercise very well with great detail. I’m 52 so I’m always looking for tips on training specific muscle groups while trying to attain the best results. It is definitely a challenge trying to build more muscle at this age, for me anyway. I just try to maintain what i have and not have to live in pain because of the injuries i’ve attained which aren’t related to training, doctors say i just got dealt a “bad hand” DDD, spinal stenosis are the main cuprits🤷🏻‍♂️ For that exercise you did using the lat machine there is a small close grip bar that would work well also. I don’t know the exact shape of it but i’m sure you’ve seen it and used it before, it has a triangular shape to it. It can be used for lat pull downs and seated lat rows, just throwing that out there. Thanks for the video brutha be well!💪🏼✌🏼
