I'm one of those guys that just quit his job, signed up, and I've been auditioning for a week now. I haven't gotten a like yet, but I'm determined. Its a swim or swim situation. I listened to every word and believe this will help a ton. Thank you both! This was a Really awkward jump, but it will land!

It's interesting to see someone from an online voice site talk about working with agents, since that could be seen as 'the competition'. I find it refreshing.

She says 2 to 7% of the jobs they audition for, but the reality is that not all your auditions are listened to. At one time, I was at 1 out 24 that I auditioned for, not bad, but 1 out of 10 that were actually listened to. This year it’s 41 to 1. Literally one job. If too many people are auditioning for the same job, it seems like they won’t get around to listening to your audition.

I'm looking to do voice acting. My voice is really good for cartoons and my friend from work has a permanent voice that sounds like snow white. Which companies can I contact directly without having to pay the $500 annual membership?
@StageMilk
@StageMilk 4 жыл бұрын
Tough one. I would do some research as it is different in every country. Unfortunately, most of them there is at least some small fee to join. If you are looking to really up your game you could try the agent route, that way they get you work and only take a percentage, rather than a fee.

It sounds easy but no no no!!! I went through the hassle and built my own studio which cost me over $400 and I paid the membership for voices which cost me $200 at the time. I was so excited at first, I thought it was going to rain a lot of money, but I was very wrong. After almost a year of submitting over 500 auditions, I only got $250 which means I got my money back plus a little extra money ($50). Now my membership is going to end soon and there's no way in hell I'm going to renew. My point is don't waste your money. It's hard to make money on that damn platform.
