Hey, i wanted to say. Im a relatively new photographer who just picked up his first camera one and a half year ago. My life went from studying and videogames to photography and videography very fast. I make short films for fun and shoot photos for events i get asked too and recently I've worked on so many projects that i just got my first glimpse of burnout. I found your channel and re learned to create for myself, slowly i can feel the motivation that i lost over the last few months. I want to thank you for your work, you are an amazing person and photographer! Thank you for giving me the motivation to continue.

I really needed to hear this. I'm starting to get back into the swing of things, but I still feel kind of off. Social media has a lot to do with it.

Glad the timing of this video was right for you! I'm actually working on a video about how social media kills creativity. Check back for that one!

Ok so I wasn't the only one thank goodness. I got that imposture feeling because so many wannabes are believed in over people who been in the business a long time. Social media plays a big role i agree! ... So I've simply stopped dealing with camera clubs and trying to find work and specs from know it all places.

I joined and IRL camera club that meets once a month. It's been nice to be around photographers of various styles, genres, and skill levels. A lot of them are old school and still shoot with a lot of traditional methods in mind, something I miss doing but it just got too expensive.

@@mediaflmcreation My problem with social media was feeling like I had to create everything specifically for it. I got so caught up in trying to please the algorithm I forgot to please myself.

Great video Chad, thanks for the motivation. I've been so burnt out on my creative side of things lately. It's been a real struggle to try and get back on track.

Awesome stuff and so freakin true! I love taking photos and gotten off into video now... Full time passionate creator of video and photos but because of social media and everybody and their ferrets and dogs is magically a "photographer" and finding work is tougher than ever because of social media people relying on their cell phones to get their videos and not achieve a professional look and feel! I "burned out" perse because welp, our home is not all youtube sexy like what i see on here and have beautiful trees and landscapes and lakes with women with the big hats and all that. So much mess going on at once I developed imposture syndrome. I'm damn good at what I do when i do, but doing it for ME is no longer working. I need to get in my truck and travel away and get shots or something. Thanks for your video man i needed t hear it!

That exactly. I fell down that hole of needing everything I created to fit a mold that everyone else would like, but it ended up being things I didn't necessarily like. When you stop doing it for you that's when the fun gets sucked out of it. Now because I have a full time gig doing creative work, it's hard to motivate myself when I get home. So one thing I did was come up with a branded style of content for my job and kept my personal style for me.
