1. Stay away from the idea of unemployment. 2. Believe that you are going to get a job. Your new job is to get a new job. 3. Be willing to take a job even though it is beneath you. 4. Ignore people who say that no one is hiring. 5. Do not rely on a resume. 6. Avoid depending entirely on headhunters and recruitment agencies. 7. Do not rely on human resource departments. They are the filters, not decision makers. 8. Do not rely on social media. 9. During the interview, focus on the future. 10. Constantly sell yourself throughout the interview. Over promise, Over commit, and over sell. 11. During the interview, show them that you're capable of increasing the company's revenue. 12. NEVER speak negatively about your previous boss. You're welcome!

This isnt how to get a dream job you will enjoy, this is how you will get any old job that may or may not lead you to a dream job. You need to go after what you want, confidence and persistance is key. As soon as you settle, you actually harm your self-worth and train your subconscious to believe that you dont have enough value. Network and surround yourself with people who hold positions you want. Emulate them. You become the 5 ppl you most surround yourself with, so keep that in mind.
@YourMajesty143
@YourMajesty143 10 жыл бұрын
Yes, I speak from experience. Once you're in a job, you become complacent. You're just glad to have a paycheck. Soon, you lose the energy & motivation, even forgetting what the original goal was. Not literally forgetting, but our minds become too focused on the current job that we lose sight of what we truly want. Not following your dreams & disregarding your intuition leaves a heavy weight on the mind & heart. You keep telling yourself, "I'll quit as soon as I save X amount of dollars or reach X position in the company". But it becomes a trap, b/c the money never feels like it's enough & the position puts too much responsibility or guilt to leave. It's something to think about.
@selenarose8463
@selenarose8463 10 жыл бұрын
YourMajesty143 Did you stop listening? Did you miss the last like four tips? All you have to do is see it to completion. If you get complacent and give up it's your own fault, and if you can't change your attitude to be more positive and actually prepare to sell yourself to a company you choose to target it's because you've given up. You can't just settle- but the fact is that finding the perfect job will require some sacrifice, including financial, that is most likely to happen when properly funded. Leaving the job force for more than a short period of time can seriously impact

***** I watched the whole video. It's not about being complacent by choice. There aren't enough hours in the day to work just any job & go after your dreams simultaneously. Pursuing a dream is a full-time job all by itself. It can take a toll on you if you put that on an already full plate.. It then becomes a matter of convenience to just hold off on pursuing your dreams so as to not hinder the energy & focus away from succeeding at your current job. I felt that this video was focused mostly on showing you how to take anything you can get & be happy that you're at least making money. However, a secure job & a dream job are two different things. And so my issue isn't so much the video, as it is the misleading title.
@ronniejones2991
@ronniejones2991 10 жыл бұрын
Definitely..its a ok video until he starts telling you to surpess ambition and settle for a hanky dank job..when in fact its harder to connect with ppl who are where u wanna be because they would underestimate your ability because of what you settled for..

Mr. Grant Cardone, I sincerely thank you for the tips you offered which has help me land a new and better job! I watched this video before the day of a group interview, right before bed time and then the next morning in the gym. The main things I used were the "what can you offer as a future employee" and I threw in the word "Revenue" towards the end. As a side note, a coworker I dislike actually applied and was in the group interview, he actually said we worked together and tried to download talk me in front of the recruiters, but I remained focused. Later that day, I heard he got a rejection email, and the next day I was offered the job! oh and lastly we had a 30 sec elevator speech and they never asked us about, but I was ready thanks to you!

Hey Grant I watched this video about a week ago and after I watched it I put out some resumes out on Craig's List and got some pretty postive repsonses. I had 3 job offers in the first week and decided to take the one that didn't pay real well but my hours are 1-8pm. So obviously having mornings free I can continue to intervew for jobs I really want. Just taking the job, and starting, I feel like a worthy person again. My confidence is back and I know that other job is right around the corner. Just wanted to say thanks for you help and also would like to know which of your sales materials I should get started with first. I have a long ways to go to be at your level. Thanks in advance for the recommendations. Jay Speck

Ok, I am just saying this coming from the other side, the employer side, that IT IS TRUE about those that are LAZY when it comes to looking for a job. I cannot stand it when I simply state that I am hiring and someone just writes back and states "tell me more". What do you mean "tell me more"???? Excuse me? Are you serious? Right from the get-go I am DONE with that person because just from that little comment made me know enough about that person to where they are just too lazy for the job. JUST SAYING for those that are looking for a job.

I would add to this not to feel complacent and relaxed where ever you wind up at. Always learn new skills and have a biz on the side. In my case, I started a copywriting business and am currently learning web development. In both cases, I learned just about everything I could from books or from online mentors. When you start pulling in some extra cash, you can then pay for better instruction and mentors and ramp it up. Never stop learning.

#1 Unemployment will drown you #2 Your new job is to get a job. Work overtime to get your new job. #3 Be willing to accept a job beneath you. Get a win and stay connected to the workforce. #4 Disconnect from negativity. Find that one company which wants exceptional people. #5 Burn your resume. People don't hire a piece of paper, they hire a value provider. #6, #8 Avoid leaning on head hunters, Monster, social media. Accept help, don't depend on it. #7 HR is a flimsy crutch. Get in front of the Decision-maker. #8 Don't rely on social media. Get your body in front of a human. #9 Interview: nobody cares about your biography... Stop talking about the past. Paint a picture of yourself in their future. #10 Interview: it's not an interview. It's a sales pitch. First, sell yourself on you. #11 Show how you can increase company revenue. #12 Never talk negative about your past job or boss. Tell how can provide value to the company. Be a Beacon of positivity. #13 Bonus! List a MAX of 3-5 companies you want to work for. Then get in front of the Decision-maker.

***** I don't think you get to be a doctor-which takes years of education-by reading 'The Secret'. I'll admit, it's an intriguing book, but learning chemistry and anatomy and microbiology etc., isn't going to happen by any 'laws of attraction' or focusing on drawing what you want to 'come to you'. it's going to take a commitment to hard work... and probably a lot of $$ to pay for the education.

I disagree with this guy. You can get unemployment that your employer paid into (instead of paying you) while you look for a job. It barely covers your basic necessities, but it doesn't prevent you from getting a job.
@deatonjr

This is the one thing I disagree with in the video. Unemployment benefits exist so that tip #1, "take a job that is beneath you", is unnecessary. That way, you CAN afford the time for a focused job search into a position that matches your skills.

Daniel Eaton Jr Oh really have you every lived on a benefit??? If so you will know you cant afford to pay bills or eat on a benefit its either one or the other but not both!

Well, yes, I collected unemployment while looking for a job in 2004 for about 4 months. It helped me pay my rent. I did have savings, but could have ended up in a cbb. I had an interview nearly every day. You can't live on the "benefit". That is not the point. It's supposed to keep a person from ending up on the street while looking for a job. Unemployment is a tax that is paid into by your employer for you. If they didn't have to pay this tax, perhaps you would get paid more, but that's another argument.

***** You are going no where with this attitude. You need the job, you are prepared to do everything for that job, you have a set of unique qualities. This means selling yourself. "Overselling" yourself does not exist, you achieve every goal you set yourself when you are in need.

Not accepting unemployment if eligible is ignorant. Yes its crumbs. But its more than what being unemployed without it brings in. Also in order to receive benefits all 50 states require you search for work, take assessments, attend workshops, etc. The office in my area not only will help you hone your job search skills, but will also send you to training/certification..........free. And often will pay you.

I got my dream job and was given the assignment of watching and reading all of Cardones vlogs and books. so all i can say is Thanx Grant Cardone for making all your info public.

For the people posting negative, complaining comments, you have poor results and a negative mindset, because you aren't using his information efficiently. You need to be sold on yourself in order to sell someone else. In other words those people are just nay-sayers. If I was a employer, I wouldn't want to hire any people who make excuses or are just negative in general. I want the person who can stand out and bring the most value. People are so stuck on his unemployment tip as a excuse, but here's the thing, if you have to do what you need to do in order to feed your kids or pay your rent then do it! BUT don't settle to slow your main job down which is FINDING A JOB, and don't make it any less urgent, since you receive unemployment. So many people take unemployment / state assistance after loosing jobs, resulting in them not finding one sooner because when people are in a position to force themselves and get out of a bad situation like their life depended on it works every time. It's the mindset of your job being to find a job like you have no resources. Negativity never results in success. Be obsessed or be average folks.

Dear God who art in heaven hallow be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, in Jesus Christ's name we pray amen.

OK, I like your enthusiasm but all of that energy being placed to working for someone else instead for your own-self. No brother, that's not the way it is, if a company wants skilful gladiators then they need to show the MONEY. I don't work for nobody if I don't know what I'm getting in return in writing. I don't even interview if I don't know the compensation. Upfront, my resume says in writing my skills and achievements that let employers understand how they are going to make money with me. Why shouldn't employers be upfront with Compensation? The world is unfair to suckers, If a company doesn't want to talk money right upfront then I'll find a company that does. Everyone is after money, no-one wants a job for just having a job, the same reason a company doesn't want to hire people to just hire people. It's all about the Green. Please teach people not be sucker so we can all demand what we deserve.
