One piece of advice I always give people who are trying to do their first pull-up is to imagine bringing the elbows to the sides. This pretty much forces the body to use the lats. I have seen people go from 0 pull-ups to 3 pull-ups with this simple trick. On the subject of pull-ups: I made my first one hand pull-up yesterday!

I have an update. I see it's been a year since my last comment. After a lot of time and a lot of training, I can now do chin ups again. Only a small number of reps but that's still something. Such a great feeling to be able to do them again. I was doing negative chins and inverted rows every second day in my training and that helped immensely. Oh and I no longer get lower back pain when I do dead hangs. When I can do more reps on my chins, I'll start concentrating more on pull ups.

Firsties Awesome video! Love the transitions! Questions: is the steonger by the day subscription include pullup programming and the previous stronger by the day programing, or are they separate? Video suggestion: A pushup video like this one! Thank you for the video!
