How to glaze pottery… (Drizzel design using brush on glazes from BOTZ glazes)

If you are a beginner in making your own pottery, then these glazing tips are just right for you!
Glazing ceramics can be challenging and much can go wrong. In this video you will lear how I create this white and blue drizzle glaze design and I’ll share important tips with you.
Tip 1:
Use painters tape at the bottom of your piece, to get a nice at sharp glaze line.
Tip2
Make sure your glaze is nice and evenly stirred before using it.
Tip 3:
The glaze needs to be the same thickness as cream. If it is thicker then that, then add a bit of water 💦 and stir it until it has the right consistency.
Tip 4:
Apply 2-3 layers of your glaze
Tip 5:
Let your piece dry a little in between each layer of glaze. Just a few minutes is fine.
Tip 6:
Apply each layer in ad different direction. This ensures that you don’t get any stripe marks and that you get an even coat.
Tip 7:
If you use the effect glaze BOTZ then only use 1 layer. If you use more layers or apply a thick layer, then the glaze will run and might get stuck to your kiln shelves 😫
Furthermore the glaze will crack and will no longer be foodsafe.
Tip 8.
Rip off the tape while the gleee is still moist, as this will gove you a sharp edge. If you wait till the glaze is dry, then you will accidentally also rip of some of your glaze.

Hi 👋🏻 How nice 👌🏻 thanks for following me into KZbin as well ☺️♥️🥰 Yes you need the first 2-3 layers to be a foodsafe glaze in order for BOTZ plus to be foodsafe. And then avoid using a thick layer. If the finished piece has cracks in the glaze, then the BOTZ plus layer was too thick and is no longer food safe
