I found a original set of 14 inch chrome cragar wheels on the side of the road in the trash the other day. Literally always dreamed of having a set of these wheels and I found them free!! Guy came out ans told me he didn't want to bother trying to sell them and he even gave me the original center caps. Craziest find of my life.

Another aspect of importance to what Brad is saying, the cam can have up to 5* of timing disparity from specification just from manufacturing variances, timing chain slack, and sensor read. That is why degree wheels and even hard-marked elements such as the aftermarket damper are good additions to a build that moves away from stock cam selections.

Wow, I am so out of the loop. I haven't screwed around with an engine since my 71 Pontiac Lemans 455 back in the mid 90s. People were always shunning electronic gauges. I even had a gear driven tach. I'm a frikkin dinosaur.

As an addendum to what he's saying after about 6:25, that temp difference he's talking about can also happen sometimes with totally accurate sensors, if they're placed far enough apart. They can absolutely read two different, but in this imaginary case, true and accurate temperatures. This is especially important to watch for on engine swapped vehicles, as components often get moved to different-from-stock locations to help everything fit.

Very nice, and informative, but! For all the rest of the world who are not familiar with US muscle, ans especially LS engines, could you guys make a "brief" video covering the basics of LS-ness ?! I could go on reading about it sure, but information first hand is always the most accurate. Would love to hear Brad and Dan talk about it for 8-10 minutes! Where they come from, what makes them so good, anything unique about them etc. Thanks, and keep up the great work!

Guys. Most all oil pressure sensor act when the pressure is Zero. Not at 10 or 20 or 5 psi. Means when light goos on you are nearly done.Late for action.So it is always good to have a Buzzer or and a sensor with turns light on at higher pressure. wich i don't know if it is easy to find for any car.

I've always wanted to see oil pressure. It's another tool for being able to catch something happening, before for something happens. If oil pressure drops you know you've got a problem occurring.

Even analog gauges fail. We just use different technology to get information now. If you want redundancy you can have multiple sensors and inputs into the Holley setup. I have a fair amount of faith in quality sensors. Cheap stuff you never know

With two seperate gauges which one do you believe? I’d rely on the factory stuff. As long as you use factory sensors.
@nickrogers86066 жыл бұрын
Bunghole Bungville I think the idea is compare the two. If they’re both reading high or low, you can safely assume there’s a real problem. If they’re contradicting then I guess that’s a judgment call.

Or if one fails there’s a back up.

Ah BRAD you are old like CAT . He thinks you tell the machine what is what. Now its the Machine tells you whats what. You kind of have to wrap your head around the fact that nothing you do has a control anymore . The control is from the computer. The younguns don't understand having control. That is why they are amazed old guys can tighten bolts accurately by feel.no torque wrench needed for most things.
