Thanks for this video! I'll be showing this to some beginner friends of mine for sure. My personal scare was stepping on skates for the first time in 10 years and only realising I forgot how to break once I was on a large downhill, and had to bail onto grass with some speed!

And what are you going to do if the road on a hill is very narrow? There's just not enough space to turn.

Probably doing a sidewalk will be safest but i am also open to any advice.

@@atilla8773 may be. probably. the safest thing is "if not sure - don't do this". walk down on the grass or something like this. but my coach gave several suggestions: walk down with skates perpendicular to the slope or slide down in power stop like position. or do very fast and narrow parallel turns kinda like ski slalom if you're confident enough.

As a beginner you put the inline skates in the plow position and thus brake. Of course you always have to control your speed in advance for not to go into panic situation when you just don't know what to do. Plow position is very effective in this situation.
