The more I watch your videos, the more i'm leaning towards quitting residential construction and doing commercial construction only! Todd makes many good points and from my experience, i have gone through some of these situations. Homeowners can cause headaches always trying to haggle me. My experience with commercial has always been easier and it's true.... i never had people in the commercial realm breathing down my neck!! I really need to order your spreadsheet packages! So glad i found your channel Jesse! Rock on!

Jesus Christ i got goose bumps on the beginning of this video. I seat across emotional ladies on a dinning room crying because of dust or a $100 change order all year long.

Hey Jesse! I like the video, full of knowledge. Are you still planning on making the video of how to become a Painting Contractor?

Yes. Reply to me some specific questions you have about it. 👍🏼

Love your content Jesse, very valuable! Currently, my company does residential construction (custom homes & remodels). I see the value in commercial as we have completed a few commercial remodels and everything you guys say is true; less emotion, higher margins, etc. Could you make a video or expand somehow on how to get more commercial projects? We have a lot of word our mouth buzzing about our homes and remodels, but we are having a tough time getting more commercial projects.

Great video Jesse! You and Todd nailed the video despite all of the noise and distractions coming from the crew setting up for wedding reception. I enjoyed meeting you guys at the Advance in Fort Meyers! Keep up the good work!

Hey Jesse Lane, what do you think about a general contracting company centered around apartments? Our company mainly consists of working with property management companies.

Love your content man! I was wondering how you would recommend I start my own remodelling business eventually: start as a basic helper, then work my way up? Or go to a tech school for CAD design and business management and find a business partner who already is a contractor? Thanks!

If you start as a helper or apprentice you are gearing yourself to working on the tools. If you start in management or office work, that's where you would probably end up. Without good office workers, the people on the tools are set for mainly failures. Vice versa.

If you were trying to find an owner’s rep for chick-fil-a or Duncan donuts for instance on LinkedIn what title would you search for them? Director of real estate [your state]?

Jesse Lane do you build skyscrapers for officespace and penthouses? is there a limit to the number of floors and squarefootage that you are able to build regardless of budget

Hey I like your videos you explain complicated information into way more simple terms i know this isn’t about this video and I have watched your other videos about general contractor but for the general contractor requirement of the 4 years of experience as a worker or foreman how do you prove in your application that you have had those years of experience or do you even need proof ?

Heres another secret: How to be a globally competitive commercial construction contractor? How do you land projects from Dubai to Hawaii? By managing outsourced and offshore teams to do the work. Partner with companies like www.versa.one/about to provide logistics, engineering, 3D modeling and design for fractions of what you’d expect to pay in the US. With my team managing the intricacies of outsourcing for you, you can focus on value engineering and quality output. Whole different ball game in the big leagues.

Less emotion? Try building a medical spa.. I assure you, there immense emotion. Tons.
