I’m heading out in July as well and would love to hear about your accommodation journey! I’m still working on figuring that out and have had a lot of anxiety about getting it right, so seeing a video from someone who’s been working on this for the past two years would be really helpful!

Waiting patiently (lol...okay, not really) for my Certificate of Eligibility and getting ready to start language school in Sapporo in October. I also heartily recommend Go! Go! Nihon, who guided me through all the complicated hoop-jumping to make this happen.

How was the entire visa process for you if you don’t mind me asking, I’m looking into going in July of 2024!
@DavidKAnderson Жыл бұрын
@@seoulsearcher7628 Pretty seamless, to be honest. The timelines given by Go! Go! Nihon proved to be accurate (including the long gap between school acceptance and issuance of the Certificate of Eligibility...it's a couple months, which seem like an eternity). If you go for an 18 month visa, you might be issued a 15 month one, but the school will help you extend it. Make sure you have something showing your residence address with you when you arrive: Immigration will issue you your residence card as you pass through, and you'll need that (along with your CoE, etc.). Good luck!

I've actually been dreaming of going to japan sinds 2020 or so, I'm now 16, I will be 17 in March! I'm from Belgium & have been looking into it and I was thinking of maybe going to Japan after highschool, and going to language school there. Although now I'm not sure anymore. With all the costs it will be super expensive and what if I don't end up liking living there? What if I don't want to continue studying there, etc. Then I'd just have to move back and a whole lot of money will be wasted to skills that I won't even need in my country... I'm really not sure, help!

I really enjoyed your video! I’m also going in July and I used gogonihon. I was wondering when you booked your flight for? Like from what I read it said that you should arrive 2-4 days before your school starts but I feel like that’s not enough time to get used to everything.
@elevLisa2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I'm arriving in Japan 4 days before my first day of school, but I've also been in Japan a few times before so getting used to everything will probably be easier. I think you'll get used to everything pretty quickly though and going to language school right away is probably actually going to help you find a routine that works for you :)

Hello, thank you for the very informative video. However i wanted to ask if the wait time to finally be accepted REALLY takes around 6 months like you described it would. Also, if i were to want to extend my 1 year visa to a 2 year visa after the first year has finished, is it possible?
@elevLisa Жыл бұрын
Hi! The wait to be accepted was quite long in my case because I applied so early, but it depends on when you apply. Apart from that, if you apply through Go! Go! Nihon, they make absolutely sure that you won't be rejected because they're super thorough with their document checks, so you can rest assured you will 99% of the time be accepted :) Also yes, you can extend later~

@TarniaF Жыл бұрын
For a year study yep! I contacted them asking and they said around 11k😭
@justabasket Жыл бұрын
This is because they want you to spend your time actually in the school and not just working. There's limits on how many hours you can work with a student visa, making it very difficult to live on such a small income. They want to make sure you have enough savings to pay your rent and not worry about becoming homeless in japan
