Well done video, I’m about to lubricate my treadmill for the first time and the tidbit about not using the wand saved me. Keep rocking on!

I am still putting my treadmill together..almost finished. This is a first-time event and don't expect to buy another one. Just happened to come across this and watched. Your video was the best one I have seen about the Sole F63. Now I know that is a very important step and you made it look important and easy to do. Thanks for the good explanation.. I appreciate it. Think I'll get this finished tonight!

Thank you for this video. I recently lubed up my f63 treadmill, following the instructions in the manual, but it still didn't run right. I followed your instructions, and the treadmill now runs OK. What I didn't know is you had to loosen the belt. If you don't, you can't lift the belt enough to apply the lube. But what really helped was my treadmill didn't lock in the upright position. And, I am including this for anybody else with the same problem. The little catch in the bottom rail didn't pop out through the hole and hold the deck in an upright and locked position. I didn't realize you also had to lube the bottom rail. I did that, and worked the deck up and down to spread out the lube. The little catch still didn't pop out, so I touched the catch, ever so slightly, with a flat head screwdriver to loosen it up. It popped out right away, so now I can fold my treadmill again. I think the key is to keep the bottom rail lubed, as a preventive measure. Thanks again, for a clear and easy to understand video.

According to the owner's manual all you have to do is lift up a little bit on each side with the belt still fully tensioned and put a 15-in s-shaped pattern about 4 to 6 in on each side and then walk on it for 5 minutes. They do not suggest loosening the belt in the manual
@henrycruz45cal Жыл бұрын
No, they don't but he is showing you how to make it easy to get the lube into the center and to spread it out well.

Thank you for your clear explanation. I have a SOLE F80 - but the principle is the same. After greasing the treadmill, it works much quieter. I ran mine 95 minutes before lubrication. Several comments. 1. Follow the instructions in your treadmill instruction manual to reset the timer for lubrication. It is a very fiddly procedure but it works with patience. This timer number is the one that you see when you start up your treadmill. 2. There are two screws at the end of the treadmill. The one with the Philips screw is for removing the cover. I had to remove the cover in order for the Allen wrench to fit, as the Allen screw was partially covered by the cover. The one that uses the Allen wrench is for loosening the treadmill belt. This is the one you need in order to loosen the belt. 3. I held up the treadmill belt part (the part that goes up and down) while unscrewing and screwing in the Allen wrench bolt. I found that this made it easier to see what I was doing. 4.. The video suggested lubricating the two parts under the belt first. These two parts are used to raise and lower the treadmill. Great idea to lubricate this first. 5. All in all, a great video. Good luck with your running. Enjoy!!! 6. BTW, it took me 1.5 hours to lubricate the treadmill belt. This is my first time to do this procedure.

As a rule of thumb, how loose should the running belt be? My treadmill just came in and I can barely even lift the belt up so it is def too tight. Also, my treadmill has those oil holes should I lube it your way or just drop it into the hole?

That is EXACTLY what I figured would be the best way to lube a treadmill belt. I haven't bought mine yet but am preparing for a purchase soon. I didn't like that "quicky" method of using a long tipped squeeze bottle. My method is almost the same as yours. I would prefer to wipe down the whole platform with a LIGHT coating of SILICONE OIL AND THEN turning my hand upside down and LIGHTLY coating the underside of the belt, too. From all the repairs I've been reading about on treadmills, it seems that a lot of the electrical issues are cause by electrical overload. A dry belt increases motor overload and hot wires until something electrical just gives out. I want a slippery belt. But I'll bet that over 90% of treadmill owners never oil their moving parts or adjust belt tension or do any maintenance. Just get on and beat it to death and then complain about product quality. That's the American way. How many car owners check their own car oil? Not many.

I can't tell, are you lubricating the underside of the treadmill belt or are you applying lubricant to the solid deck underneath?
@geekyasiandad7805 жыл бұрын
Hambo04 .... hey! Sorry for the delayed reply. I apply the lube on the “deck” because I find it easier to smear the lube in a more uniform and even. I tried one time to lube the underside of the belt. Honestly, at the end I could not tell the difference. I just prefer to lube the deck where I tend to run. I hope this was hopeful.
@rgraz4929 Жыл бұрын
The lube sold by Sole is in a tube and thicker where every other treadmill lube is a thin liquid silicone in a bottle. I wonder why that is? It seems like the viscosity in the tube would be too thick to be absorbed into the belt's cotton lining.

@geekyasiandad7806 жыл бұрын
Hi... so sorry for the late reply because I was pondering over "disassembling" my treadmill for a video. Search Sole treadmill assembling and watch the 8 videos backward. I hope you have the strap to hold the support to the support to the running platform. As you know the treadmill is crazy heavy. Get at less 3 friends to help you move it. I would use a twin box spring mattress as a rough guide to determine how you will maneuver the treadmill (it is close in size length and much lighter) goodluck!
