@@dreamersleepwalker seriously my dog has bite other dogs but always it’s because the tiny dog either runs around a corner or jumps my dog from behind. Causing panic which causes my dog to give his response. Oh and of course there unleashed this whole process. You gotta remember when a big dog grabs you *he ain’t letting go* after a real good beating, extensive training telling him to let go or the darker option lethal force aka a gun. Sooo yeah I actually respect people who walk on the other side of the road away from my dog. Because lord knows what that other dog will do or what random event will occur that makes my dog snap.

I once worked for a florist as a delivery driver. On my day off, my boss called me asking if I could make 1 delivery because the other driver was too scared to approach a gated house due to "large scary dogs". When I got to the gate to the property, I was greeted by two of the most gorgeous and well trained Dobermans I've ever met. Unable to contain myself, I started praising them with a baby-talk voice and without hesitation I opened the gate and started petting them. Made the delivery no problem and with those two beauties escorting me to the house and back to the gate. Owner was amazed that I didn't call the number at the gate XD. While it doesn't apply to every dog, the way some dogs can sense intention/energy will always blow my mind.

@@cr4zyj4ck Its not a K9 unit. Name one person you know including yourself who has a family dog, where they have to identify themselves and let the dog know who they are before stepping onto their property or into their house. Dont worry Ill wait. Ive had many dogs in the past, and several of them wouldve fucked up ANYONE who came into our house that wasnt supposed to be there. Not once was I ever worried about getting bit if I didnt first identify myself before entering my premises, nor did it ever happen. SO you can talk whatever nonsense you want, its just not realistic in your average home that has a protective canine. Dogs are smart enough to sense a threat from a non threat almost immediately. I once lived on property that had two small houses on it about 50 feet apart separated by a courtyard. my neighbor was a nice lady who owned a female Rottweiler. I was well known by this dog, we used to play all the time. very friendly dog. one night I was out in the courtyard at night and my neighbor came home from visiting a friend down the street with her Rottweiler. she let the dog through the gate and turned to latch it. meanwhile the rottie kept coming. I saw her in the dark coming at me fast and low. I didn't know what to do so I called the dogs name. She stopped, her head came up and she turned into the happy playful dog she had always been with me. That dog was all business investigating an unknown threat and became a happy dog once the threat had been identified. I was very impressed. Now, later in life, I own three Rottweilers.

Sounds accurate. Rotties are notorious for having gas/digestive issues. My rottie had such a sensitive tummy that most every kibble gave him diarrhea. I had to buy fancy $70/40lb bag kibble… 10 years ago. That was just too expensive and I ended up cooking my rotts’ meals instead. I created two lists: veggies/meats/grains that upset his tummy and foods that don’t. The ‘don’t’ list was much longer than the do-list. However for the most part it solved his tummy issues with only the occasional farts. At least after getting him on home cooked meals the rare farts didn’t stink anymore. But nothing stank as bad as when my husky would fart 💨 💀

He charged at me, but having a mouthful of food as I walked in, I couldn't give a command or say anything so he'd recognise my voice. He only realised that it was me once he'd actually bit me. Luckily, I naturally put my arm out and as it was winter I was wearing quite a thick jacket, so he didn't penetrate my arm. He only "clamped on" for a second or two until he realised, and I was physically unharmed. But maybe next time call a lock smith 😆 Edit: thanks for the likes ❤️ And to those chastising Lisa, I must say giving vocal commands in this situation is not worth it. Most well trained guard dogs are trained to ignore all commands from intruders, and you are considered an intruder if you are entering unannounced from an entrance that isnt the front door. Also, I want to add that Lisa's dog is likely a rottie mix, considering it is 180lbs and was still able to guard the house successfully. I don't see another way it could weigh 180 and move around fast enough.

Same thing with my parent's ridgebacks. Though the big guy is all bark and no bite (he's a 135lb beast, but he's like the guy who always says "hold me back", he really doesn't want any smoke), but his older and smaller sister is the one that gets defensive. She bit our gardener because he had his weed whacker in his hands while walking towards my dad and she just went total defense mode. My dad stopped her after one bite and fortunately it was on a padded portion of his thigh so no skin was broken. My dad tipped him pretty generously and the guy was cool with it since he's been around the dog for 6 months at that point and even stated he probably shouldn't have walked towards my dad with a big thing that looks like a weapon and makes a ton of noise. The big guy just watched the whole thing and then charged in after everything had finished and puffed out his chest like he helped 😂. I swear, I know they were bred to hunt lions, but the dynamic they have reminds me of a male lion and female lion. Where the females do all the work and the male only steps in to protect the land from other males lol. They're 11 and 12 now, the girl isn't doing so well now, but we're hoping she's got another year or 2 left in her. Big guy, aside from a tumor on his ankle (which we've removed, but came back. It's benign, but the problem is it's in a spot that is extremely difficult to operate on and 2 vets said they weren't comfortable attempting to remove it... We're doing radiation to try to keep it from swelling and bursting since surgery is always risky with older dogs) looks like he's only 8 or 9. He can't jump as well, but he looks great otherwise.

Sometimes when they start to bark to alert the people in the home, I call their name and they instantly stop barking. I let them smell me and then I pet them.
