Never watch a BBQ Pit Boys vid if you're hungry, out of food and have to wait till tomorrow to buy anything. Unless you wanna torture yourself. These dudes know great food and how to make it.

I've been searching, but this remains one of the best sub sandwich recipes out there. Briefly brick grilling it to melt the cheese and warm up the meats takes this to another level.

just joking with you. Having said that, the dry high heat of the grill turns ordinary bread into killer bread. The crunchy bite of the sandwich makes it worth the effort.

Fair question, maxlogica, if you've never eatin' out of a Brick Oven. Perhaps the word flavor is a bit mis-understood when it's applied to this recipe, except that the bread takes on a toasted texture and flavor only the high dry heat of the charcoal and hot bricks can achieve. -BBQ Pit Boys

hey enea23, being italian is OK, don't worry about it! Fixin' up these badboys is a personal choice, and sometimes what you use to stuff them with has more to do with what you have in the refridge then what you have a cravin' for!...Thanks for stoppin' by. -BBQ Pit Boys

@vvbn7890... lol...maybe for some concrete dwellers "the smoky flavor aint worth the effort just for a sandwich" but for a few of us any excuse to fire up the Pit is well worth it. It's a religion, bro. It's a religion..! Besides, a fresh fire-toasted sandwich like this is good eatin' as good as it gets..! Skip the fast food joint and try one of these sometime..!

that may not work because ya need to keep the grill real hot 450-550f to get the best results for subs and pizza. Once you cover the grill, the grill temp will go down fast, so anything other than subs and pizza will be a hassle..-BBQ Pit Boys

-fair question CMLovejoy. If ya get a chance, do a comparison test between big oil gas vs charcoal/wood fired food. Now for Girlie men and gals who don't like to get their hands soiled, propane gas fume cookin' is the answer -they like to think they're eatin' real BBQ off the grill!

@drummerchef85110 жыл бұрын
As far as the origin of the cold cut version, you may be correct. as far as the Cheese steak hoagie, that was created in Philadelphia and mastered in South Jersey at the shore. South Jersey, (it is said because of the water) has a very distinct bread that makes a heck of a hoagie. As close as 20 miles from the shore, the bread changes to Philly style breads, making our bread a truly micro regional treat. Both are absolutely great. You also see a different variety of meats being used in AC too than what you are using. I grew up on these hoagies, putting it on the fire......... interesting?! The bread you used looks awesome, where is it from?

If I was cooking for more than just me I'd go for it! don't get me wrong. I often see a delicious roast corn "appear" on the grill halfway through some of your other videos. Can I still roast corn or eggplant on the side of the sub since the grill is full of bricks? I like grilling a few things at the same time.
