Best fitting RB I've ever had, old "Aero 9" with "IFS" fastening, a proto-BOA. An absolute glove. Newer stuff, not even close. Severe pain beyond an hour use.

Not gonna lie, it looks like these would cause more damage on the impact than it would protect you from... Although I would use them without that plastic part inside.

I'm not much of an inline guy, but i do wear them while im skateboarding, and they take impacts very well! I personally preferred them without the plastic wrist saver, which i know defeats some of the purpose, but they definitely kept my hands from getting messed up on the concrete . I can't wait for version 2 and the new colors!

UPDATE: After talking with a few of you, it appears I needed to flip the plastic piece over to remove that wrist bone pain point. After doing this the gloves no longer have that issue and feel great!

i just got mine yesterday lol i wanted them mostly for the old skool aesthetic of paw gloves but they're decent for impact too. i was a lil sketched out by the plastic splint but my friends played with it and realized that they came backwards so switching that made the gloves way more comfortable and was able to move the wrist way more

The real question is... what would these be, for your wrist? Still sunglasses? Reproduction sunglasses? Imitation sunglasses? Tinted contacts? Ski goggles? Window tint? Those wooden glasses with the slit that natives wear in the Himalayas? Nostalgia pedants want to know.

“Rook: for when you’re not a pawn but you ain’t the king, either.” 😂 These days I’m mostly speed skating and I like Rollerblade’s cheap “blade gear” wrist guard because it protects the wrist and palms but the back is mostly open. It doesn’t collect sweat. I’ve taken two gnarly falls and they’ve worked. Unfortunately I wasn’t wearing anything on my knees and elbows, and the scars from my last fall are going to be with me for quite some time!

I truly wanted to like them. Great branding, excellent customer service. Mine ripped on the second session and then the third session got them so bad that the pad came out of the palm. I also ended up hurting my palm worse than I ever had with other gloves. In my experience the plastic palm splints do a much better job of taking impact and also keeping you sliding instead of absorbing all of the force directly. I'm rough on wristguards, but these were destroyed way quicker than any of the others I've tried over the years. I will say they are comfortable and look great. If you don't fall often like I do, I think these might be an okay option.
@ThirtyandRollin

Thanks for your insight! I could see the impact being worse without the plastic in the palm. Really surprised to hear about the ripping though.

I wanted to make sure you flip the plastic guard on the inside before wearing bc they do that to fit in the package. I almost sent them back before fixing. I've been using these for a while and I like them a lot more than the triple 8 wristsavers. better movement, more comfortable to fall with. easier to slide and get back up with. will def keep using them for the foreseeable future.

2:02 purchased these blades on Father’s Day, treat to myself. Roller blade about 4yrs ago for a short period however, when I tried these on for the first time, I recognised its comfort instantly. Over an hour blading that’s when it became a little discomfort but overall, 100% from a beginners view point ❤

Thanks for the video! Now I'm thinking that it's better for me to buy the best hard boot I can afford with 4x80 frame and then later to buy a 3x125 frame to be able to exchange them from time to time.. maybe later I'll buy hard boots also for the bigger wheels.. we'll see:)

Great video!! Just ordered these. I got current task to update my rollerblade macroblade 3x110 wheels and everyhting else, and the pricetag for all that was over 200€, so I spotted these Maxxum 125 from discount (300€), so it was easy decicion to order new skates. My first inlineskates was K2, and i didn't like those. Then updated K2 to rollerblade 4x90mm, next 3x110 and now waiting new Maxxum 3x125. I'm ice hockey player (not professional) and love to Do long distance trainings with inline skates after the ice hockey season has ended. Usually something between 20-50miles. Can't wait to have these new skates!

I really empathise with how you're feeling and thinking about this injury. You probably know this already but strengthening ALL of your rotator cuff muscles is SO SO crucial. I've started skating in 2020, at the age of 40/41 something ahahaha I need to make my math here. But... My real first roller skates are the Rollerblade Cruiser 4x80 that I still have. Then, I wanted a faster one and bought a Powerslide Zoom Pro 3x100. I like it, but I didn't feel a bigger different, maybe because the stock Hurricane wheels are too smooth and they hold you back in comparison to the 4x80 stock rollerblade wheels. I love skating. It's a big part of my life now and I'm looking forward to get my third roller skates now: either àn FR skates FR 2 3x110 or a rollerblade Twister 3x110.
