I groom them every four weeks, so that the heat doesnt bother them. Do you have any advise for me, on how to keep there eyes stainfree??? Happy New Year and tropical greetings from Bonaire
@thedoggroomerreviewchannel72655 жыл бұрын
Hello Joan Thank you so much for leaving me a comment regarding your two maltipoos. There are a few options you can utilize to keep their eyes stain free. First being, you can go to your local vet and they can prescript eye drops that will help with the drainage. Second option you can try is called "angel eyes" its a solution sold over the counter at pet stores. Lately, I heard of face wipes you can purpose to maintain their eye drainage to a minimal. Hope those recommendations help you =)

What shears did you use for paws and simple trimming?
@thedoggroomerreviewchannel72655 жыл бұрын
I use a mutlitude of shears for feet. My favorite shears are from Evolution shears curved, thinning and clunkers. My favorite straight shears are my Washi shears. I also often use my straight and curved Geib Gators. For a more affordable shear I would choose Aussie Shears. I have an older video of my favorite tools at that time on my channel. Hope this helps

My maltipoo has short hair on her face, she doesn’t require any grooming around the eyes or snout. But she looks like a black lion as she has most of her hair around her neck and paws lol. She is just over 11 mo and she has major problems with me grooming her feet.. any tips?
@thedoggroomerreviewchannel72653 жыл бұрын
I would desensitize her by touching and safely grabbing foward her feet, when she asks good reward her with something (ex treat) positive reinforcement is the best. If that doesn't work, you can always hound hammock her which is holding her off the ground in order to trim the legs easily.

My maltipoo hair is thinning out he is 3 months old. I give him baths at home and blow dry his hair could this be causing the problem?
@thedoggroomerreviewchannel72655 жыл бұрын
Hello Roxanne; Thank you so much for your question. No, giving your dog a bath at home (granted you are using puppy shampoo) and blow drying should not be thinning their hair out. This is actually incredibly crucial to expose your puppy to grooming practices to ensure they understand grooming is a chore they must undergo often. Puppies do loose their "puppy hair, and transition to their adult eventually" but I believe 3 months is too young for this to happen (typically this occurs at the 6 months mark. However; often if dogs aren't exposed to a lot of sun it may take longer). I would recommend contacting your vet with this concern because it is not normal and they may be able to figure out what the underlining issue. Thanks so much for watching my video =)

Hi Nicole, I will be getting my new Maltipoo in a week, he will be about 6 weeks when he comes home, how often should I groom him, and what should I be doing to take cares of his fur at such a young age?
@thedoggroomerreviewchannel72655 жыл бұрын
Hello Reema You want to start bathing him now, and using your blow dryer on no heat to acclimate him to grooming. In addition, you want to purchase a non-abrasive slicker brush to brush him out while bathing him and in-between every few days. You do not want to bring him into a professional groomer until he is 16 weeks which is when he will have all his shots. I hope that helped. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask them there. Looks like you cut his eye lashes and whiskers too. I thought that whiskers help dogs smell and navigate
@thedoggroomerreviewchannel72654 жыл бұрын
Hello Great question, Dogs unlike cats do not utilize their whispers to navigate their surroundings.This is because of how the whiskers are connected within each animals body. The difference to why this is fact with cats stiffer hair (vibrissae) are embedded deeply in the cats body. The vibrissae are connected securely to their sensitive muscular and nervous system. These send information about the surroundings directly to the cat's sensory nerves. Also, just for added information neither cat or dog whiskers have the ability to aide with smell. Thanks for your comment.

@TRISHA MOSS I can't speak about other groomers' practices. But I don't know 1 groomer in a decade that would sedate a dog without a clients permission. Some dogs, especially ones acclimated to grooming at an early one, are just used to the process and therefore sit with confidence
