I just have to say - I love you! Your videos are amazing and I have used them in my DIY for years. I'm getting ready to grout my bathroom. I've grouted before in my other bathrooms, but it has been a couple of years. I love watching your videos to refresh my memory. Thanks again, Shannon!

Thank you very much for your demo and good explanation the things you show in your videos. I watched many videos about how to grout the tiles and found that your demo is the best. All words you say has an important meaning. You are a great teacher. Thank you again.

Grout between the tiles and the tub tends to crack because of the tub flexing. Wouldn't be better to use caulking instead for that particular spot?
@HouseImprovements5 жыл бұрын
yes on a tub you do need silicone there. When I'm using clear silicone I use grout back there first to give some colour in the joint.
@HouseImprovements5 жыл бұрын
I was wondering why you posted your question on this video cause I thought you were referring to on the long between the tub and wall tile, I realized after I replied that you were referring to the joint between the front of tub and floor. With this grout I have never had that floor joint crack and I don't silicone at the floor either. Just wanted to clarify that.
@AndreiMoroz5 жыл бұрын
@@HouseImprovements Thanks for the reply, Shannon! Yes, I was referring to the floor joint. What about the wall joints between the side walls and the front of the tub. Grout or silicon?
@ds995 жыл бұрын
I would grout it and caulk it. Just to be extra safe.

hola Shannon, any advice for tiling over a radiant floor. its getting colder and the heat is on, so the concrete slab is warm. Do I shut off the heat and tile when cool?

Another great vid. Would like to mention though, I've used this grout and as Shannon points out, it does dry quite quickly...so...be careful on the type of tile you use it with. I used this grout with what seemed to be a porous tile and the grout left marks on the tile within 30 seconds of not getting it off...it was very painful to work with. I suggest testing it with some spare tiles first and if needed...seal your tiles first before using this grout.

i am using 6"x24" ceramic tiles. they are not all exactly the same width and some have a slight bow to them. this has caused my grout lines to be not 1/16th as i had hoped for. so my grout lines go from very thin to some places as much a 3/16 . should i still use a non sanded grout or a sanded grout.
@HouseImprovements4 жыл бұрын
I would stick with non sanded

Great video Shannon!! I was wondering if I buy the same grout and only use a little bit for a very small area, can I use it again in few months if I need to, or does the grout dry out in the bucket? Thank you!

Any tips for cleaning up remaining haze after you've grouted?
@HouseImprovements2 жыл бұрын
Many times a wipe .buff with a clean cloth will do it. If you need more than that there are haze cleaners you can use.

Does the hand trowel have a foam pad on it? Is there a "preferred" kind of pad? Also, I wondered why the toilet drain wasn't grouted. Always good tutorials. Thank you for recording, editing, posting.
@HouseImprovements5 жыл бұрын
Some do some don't, depends what you buy. I generally don't waste grout under there unless i know I have enough. You can go back the next day and do it if you want .

It’s a real bummer if you don’t completely fill the joints with grout. If you just fill in the top of the joint in about a year you will have the good fortune of vacuuming out the now empty seam and regrouting. The grout sitting at the top of the joint will have broken up.
