I found a seed in a Mexican candy and just put it in dirt and kept waiting and after a year I have a tiny tree. The leaves close at night. So cool.

Full sun will help a lot. But tamarinds are fairly slow growers and need time.

Once you see the roots start filling the pot. That may mean you need to take them out to see the roots so be careful.

Did you ever add water after putting them in ?
@mountaingardening

So I added water when I first planted them. You don’t want to water them again until they start to break the surface of the soil. They seem to not like a lot of water.

Can I use the seeds from the dried candy version
@mountaingardening
@mountaingardening Жыл бұрын
I’m not totally sure what candy version you are talking about. But tamarind is very hardy so as long as the candy hasn’t been heated super hot I would say yes. Even if it does get super heated they still may grow. So give it a shot and let us know! Good question!
