I've read some tips for keeping slugs away from plants, such as placing a ring-shaped object around the base of the plant to prevent them from climbing it, and also to sprinkle egg shells around the base, since their sharp edges serve sort of as barbed wire, so they turn around. I know I've read about one more but it escapes me, at the moment. I hope one of the above tips works for you, and thanks for making these videos...they're always really interesting!

I get coffee grounds from my nearest Pete's Coffee. All coffee shops give them for free. I have been using it now and the snails/slugs no longer attack my leaves to any green leaf plants.

What are the height of the flower stems? Will these serve as cut flowers. And what is the flowering cycle like ?
@alatsamy4 күн бұрын
I don’t know much about it yet since I just got them this year. One of mine bloomed. The flower stem is about 18-20” long. They say it blooms late summer-early fall. Mine bloomed early fall since I’m zone 8B. It’s very hot in Texss

They'll do just fine outside where you live. The only thing you'll have to worry about is the slugs.
Sprinkle copper shavings on top soil to keep those slugs away..
@markthompson95198 жыл бұрын
Sluggs will not cross copper. Surround the plant with pipe or flashing.

Add copper taping all around the bottom of it!

I didn't know neem was effective for slugs. I always keep some neem oil around, I'll try it. Thanks.

Does it smell...?
@Sheikyerbouti84 жыл бұрын
Yes, a delicate perfumey smell. Not overwhelming in small numbers, but when there are a lot of them blooming at once, you can smell it without putting your nose in the flower. If you just want tons of perfume, there are better choices, though.
