I'm so glad that I found you. Love the variety. Next batch of seeds I get will be through your links. As an FYI, I've found it very easy to make small donations through Buy me a Coffee. I do have a ? After you planted, you put on a green cover and weight. When you revealed it had an additional black tray. Did you need to water or why was that used. Do you ever pre soak. Thank You again and again.

Great Job!!! Love your videos they’re like a master class. I encourage you to keep doing it. If you would, make a video about the business side of growing Microgreens for profit( marketing strategies, and legal aspect of the business such as permits, licensing, certification, insurance Etc)

Very nice, been watching ur grows. I also grow detroit dark red, and i find that at day 15 the stems would be thicker and the cotyledons a little bigger in size. So when u extend the growing time u get a little more weight, i get around 100g per tray for 35g of seed. All in all great grow, thanks for the videos.
@jamesfranklin5476 Жыл бұрын
Experienced the same, but the taste is considerably more bitter and earthy IMO. Also time is money and so is space. 5 more days is half a grow period for a more profitable crop in that space.

Plants like a cycle of dry and wet in the root zone have you experimented with letting the roots get slightly dry before watering? May help yield as the extra oxygen in the roots will Encourage growth

I love the flavor of these (beet, arugula & hint of rhubarb), and the vibrant color, but they are annoyingly fussy, small, delicate (prone to laydown), and low yeilding. I wish someone could breed a variety with a taller, thicker juicier stalk. If they could make mung bean sprouts (fast, easy, crunchy, juicy) with the same flavor and color as beet greens, i'd be in heaven.

Hi...what do you do with the growth medium after harvest?. Do you compost? Seems to like a good way to further utilize the soil. The roots and lower stems would add nutrients i imagine

Great video. Thanks for the information. Question: What temperature are you operating at? I get good germination, but I'm getting mold spots. I think it is my water, but I watched and you thoroughly soaked the tray.
@PrincetonMicrogreens3 жыл бұрын
If you want to do the soaking of the medium method so you don’t need to mist it everyday it requires a few things. First you want to make sure you don’t have any windows or hot sun beating down on the trays. Second, the ideal temperature of your grow space should be between 68-70 degrees. Finally, you need to keep that dehumidifier pumping and your humidity shouldn’t be any higher than 35-40%!
@misterbulger3 жыл бұрын
I get mold sometimes from the certain types of bagged soil if it doesnt have good drainage... also try to lower the temp/humidity in the room. I switched from a watering can to a pump sprayer and it seems like I can control the watering much better now and it doesnt knock the stems over as bad when they're getting tall. Also try using a little less seed. I think if the pan is planted too densely it's more mold prone. If I dont have my AC running it definitely gets too humid in there but if I leave the door open it really helps. i basically live in desert climate so I guess I've lucked out not needing a dehumidifier. Would be cool to use the water for irrigation though.

I recently purchased the beet microgreen seeds from Trueleaf. The directions for those said to soak for 12 hours before planting. I checked numerous sources and no one mentioned soaking them beforehand. I also did an online chat with Trueleaf and the gal I chatted with said to maybe just soak for an hour or 2. Any thoughts on that would be welcomed.

Great video! Quick question, I´ve been trying to grow beet for a while, funny thing is I´ve mastered the most difficult part (I think) which is making it grow without the seed hulls. Problem I am having is that they are dying on the process after germinating. Can´t find the reason why and it is not mold. You got any suggestion?! Thanks a lot!

This video is really helpful! I'm trying to get set up to grow beet microgreens and I'm trying to figure out what I need to purchase. Can anyone clarify? Is the grower is using 3 trays here? It looks like the bottom tray is solid. The second tray with holes holds the coconut coir and seeds. Finally one more on top for the weight that is also solid.
@TheAffectedRyan2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you would need the 3 trays. you could use another item to just cover the medium to weigh it down but another try just fits best.

@PrincetonMicrogreens3 жыл бұрын
They added about another 4-5 days to their grow which is perfectly fine! You will get much more crop, at the expense of just a touch more electricity. Absolutely nothing wrong with that and I do that with beet a lot as well. Our videos are more proof of concept on how to work with microgreens and what to look out for, then adjusting little things like growtime for what works for you. I'm happy you're doing your research though, thats what will make you successful 😎
