Oooo glad I found this video again as I'm trying to decide which Nandina to plant.

Just picked up a young plant, labelled Flirt (Murasaki) half price, £4-99 in the end of season sale at a local garden centre. It's destined to become a bonsai accent plant. I don't think that you mentioned flowering, so I will say that it does flower, as mine has a flower spike on it. No colour change as yet, but it's still mild in the UK Midlands, however my N D Firepower is a mix of pink to purple. Thanks for the info.

We planted some small flirt nandinas next to the porch . They have been getting watered every sunday. At first they looked healthy but now at 4 weeks they look a little weak. Should we only water them once a month? Also we have been putting miracle grow in the water. Is that not recommended.

Do Flirts get berries? That is very important since the berries are very toxic and shouldn't be used in certain applications.

Do these get bright right red or more purple red?

I would call it maroon. If you want red with no berries, try Blush Pink.

How to grow a nandina don't. They are boring overused and really not attractive. My Wife and I removed everyone we had in the yard. They are super common and are darn near bulletproof once established. Definitely extremely drought tolerant.
