I've been doing this for 3 weeks because my hair was shedding. Already the shedding has decreased significantly! I let the rice water ferment (spoil) for 2-3 days and it doesn't smell rotten. I add lavender and orange essential oils and use it as a rise after I shampoo. I place the rice water in a large bowl and use a plastic cup to just dump it over my hair. I let it sit for about 10 minutes then rinse and follow with a deep conditioner using steam. My hair comes out so soft and is super easy to detangle💁🏽

I do mine a little differently than what was shown in the video. I use the same technique to make the rice water except after the fermentation I keep it in the fridge so it is cold when I use it. I use it as a final rinse after deep conditioning then style as usual. It has worked wonders for me!! I have noticed way less shedding, and way more shine!

Bethany Derby that's the beauty of KZbin, specially this channel now. She try it, it works, we try it!! 💡 btw! The overnight eggs and oil treatment is awesome. If you watch the video I tell you, I tried it the same night after she posted and had a FRESH color so I can tell it really worked 😄
@officially_ama8 жыл бұрын
Luna Azul Yes her channel is amazing! I saw that video, but I didn't try it. But now I will try it, I hope it works for me too. Do you use it regularly? And will you be trying this one?
@TeAmoCristoJesus8 жыл бұрын
Bethany Derby I only did it once, the same night she posted the video. I forgot to do a length check before, but I had a new hair color from just days before and my roots grew about one inch, I noticed the next night and was shocked because my color took lighter on my roots and I hated it lol so the change was obvious. I will try it again tomorrow night. I don't think we should do it more than once a month because it could give us protein overload, unless you are relax, I don't think you should do it more than that. I will be trying the rice water. Can you believe I never thought of using it for my hair, but I have used it for my face. It helps to clear acne, my mom pass that little secret to me. I will be letting you know on Monday if it worked again. Try it, it will work. Don't forget to massage your scalp.
@officially_ama8 жыл бұрын
Luna Azul Thank you very much. If it works for me I will add it to my regimen and do it a once a month, even though the bathroom will smell bad lol. I've tried the rice water. However I do put mine in a spray bottle and I added a few oils to mine. Mine is a NO rinse rice water oil. It worked wonders on my hair. I added 2 drops of each of these oils. BLACK CASTOR OIL, COCONUT OIL, ARGON OIL, TEA TREE OIL, PEPPERMINT OIL, ROSEMARY OIL. My hair grew a little over 4 inches in a month in a half. I will not use anything else. I've finally found something that my hair likes. Blessings to all.

Don't worry, Maryam! (You will follow your own advice soon.) You are on your way to INCREDIBLY lengthy hair! The only reason you straighten your hair is because you like to enjoy your (hard-earned) length. I think that's pretty much the reason most of us naturals straighten our hair. Just continue to be diligent, and soon your hair--- even in its shrunken state--- will hang down to your waist or hips:-) Keep up the excellent work!

strength and length for hair is genetics. Theirs a reason why Asians and Indians have long thick hair and your average white women doesn't. BUT I recommend anyone trying to grown better hair to eat, sleep and drink enough water. Most people have the ability to grow great hair but have a super toxic environment of eating poorly and not drinking water to detoxify. Take care of yourself and you'll see results.

Hi, love this video and your hair is so pretty. However I read in several articles that you shouldn't reboil the water after fermentation because it kills the nutrients that make rice water work. Also, some people use the water after soaking as treatment and not boiling it at all. Thoughts?
@1977ver8 жыл бұрын
I'm not even sure how I stumbled onto this video, but "wooooohoooo, I'm soooooo glad that I did." So Thank You :) I've been reading up about it ever since and there's so many great reviews about how people have noticed a huge difference in the way their hair feels (soft, silky)etc. My one concern is that many have said their hair does not feel totally clean after using the rice water, so they have opted to wash their hair with shampoo first, then use the water as a rinse/conditioner (which defeats the purpose doesn't it)??? Anyhow, I have my rice fermenting for the next 24 hrs, so we'll see how it works for me. Scared of the sour smell after leaving it to ferment (but apparently the smell disappears once the hair is dry), plus essential oils can be used (Lavender, Orange, Peppermint)etc. Oh by the way, apparently boiling the water kills all of the useful nutrients (so I read)!

Black strap molasses helps with gray hair too if you apply it regularly. Whoaaaaa!! I did a brown rice organic treatment 2 weeks in a row. First time, hair was sooo soft and smooth, 2nd week my hair was sooo dry and brittle and stiff. This is a good treatment, but use it sparingly if you are protein sensitive. Also, it gave me horrible flyaways :-(

I'm a bit confuse your hair is already wet prior to adding the rice water is that the proper way you're suggesting that we do? And how offen should we do this to start seen results?

Nina Alfred When u Normally Shampoo do u add the product to dry hair or do you rinse your hair & get it nice & wet 1st?
@TheGodis1One8 жыл бұрын
probably because warm water opens the strands up for cleansing. when u shampoo your hair do u wet it first or do u apply the shampoo to dry hair?

This is very true. My mothers side of the family has been doing this for years. Although I have no interest in long hair. I usually cut mines. but I know my mother and my cousins and aunts etc have VERY long hair because of this method.

When do you deep condition? Before or after the rice water?
@jcwt_pdx7 жыл бұрын
It does work! I just have to use it once a week, along with the Arian oil 4-in-1 leave-in conditioner. Gotta comb the hair through, or the hair will become too kinky and unmanageable. Don't want that.

1. If you are not protein sensitive, feel free to let the water ferment for another day or so. 2. Leave it on your hair (covered) for at least 30 minutes. 3. Use any leftover water within 24 - 48 hours because it goes bad quickly. 💋
@byoung4eva18 жыл бұрын
Yeah, i think the reason their hair is so long is because of low manipulation, like u mentioned, not cutting their hair but once in their lives, and not using man-made shampoos and conditioners. Not necessarily the rice water. I'm pretty sure all of us could do that, and especially those with straight hair, and get the same results without the rice water.
@Skalyon28 жыл бұрын
i agree. I used to have dreads for 18 years. my hair was down to my legs. this was due to very low manipulation and no shampoo or conditioner but only natural products from the earth such as hibiscus flowers, aloe vera and cactus. I had very healthy and thick hair.
@Feonalilly8 жыл бұрын
Skalyon2 lol dreads are long because you're twisting/keeping your shed hair instead of getting rid if it like everyone else.

@SnappingTurtle8018 жыл бұрын
hadar styles how long have you used it?
@victoriacain66388 жыл бұрын
I have been using this technique for about a month and I havent seen any major hair growth yet But I have noticed my ends have stop breaking as much, my hair is much much softer and when I straighten my hair and curl it, the curls have been able to last me almost 2 weeks compared to a week at most before. My hair hasnt been as dry either. So far for me I have definitely seen positive changes in my hair. And I used regular rice in the blue and white box. The only thing I did different is add a few drops of Tea tree oil in the rice water. So I think this will be my new preferred method of cleansing my hair.
@hadarstyles33548 жыл бұрын
Until now I've used it only two times because i don't want to use it daily. I can a small different, my hair is softer but it didn't grow yet, but remember i only used it twice, i will love making this a part from my daily routine!!!!
@SnappingTurtle8018 жыл бұрын
thanks for the responses. maybe I'll give it a try. if it doesn't promote growth hopefully it will help with the dryness.
