I like to put the greens in a sink or tub of water and wash them in that. It's quick and less of a fuss. Pick one up, slosh it around and toss it in the pot.

I'm thinking it would be a good idea to put in an outside sink with a hose set up and a big bucket under the sink to catch the water and the grit because in the home the grit will eventually clog up the sink.. Maybe make a screened in prep area for potting, prepping, and washing produce that is bug free while working there. Come to think of it, I could make it so I can cover it in the winter with greenhouse plastic sheet to grow seedlings for the spring in the same spot. It could look kind of nice, like a gazebo. It would be small to save money, say about 8 feet square and high. In the winter I can hang up gardening tools too. How's that for a project? Just thinking and saying.

Curious why did you pull the whole plant? Won’t they keep leafing out? And wow you must have used 100 gallons of water. Thats insane.

This is going to sound crazy but that looks like Florida dirt on your turnips. Just curious if I am right cause I love greens and I am a Florida native. You cooked them the way I was taught to cook them. My granny was born in 1890 and she taught me to garden and cook, can, sew and hunt, skin, and butcher.
