Thank you very much for uploading this video on ice plant. I have already kept them in seedling tray and they have started sprouting too. Can we not keep 3 to 4 seedlings for a 6” pot? There are at least 50 (to be) seedlings which are to be transferred. I don’t know how many of them will survive. I don’t have much space where these pots can be accommodated. If you get the time can you make please make videos on Gazania as also on calendula, from the seedling part to flowering part like the way you have done for ice plant? TIA.
@GardeningUpbeat4 жыл бұрын
@Malini Rao, Most welcome and thank you so much for watching the video :-) Congrats! Seeds are sprouting :-) 3-4 seedlings in 6” pot would be crowded and plz don't keep more than 2 as they need some space to spread. If you like, definitely you can grow...just might not get much flowers. You can transplant only the healthy one and ignore the rest. I know it's difficult but it's also not possible to grow all seedlings. I also feel very bad whenever I need to ignore seedlings :-( I already have videos on Gazania and Calendula in same style and here are those videos - Gazania - kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3PFl5VtqcRkfbM Calendula - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmKoh5V-hL6Ha5Y If you have any questions, feel free to ask me and Happy Gardening :-)

Hey,there was no sunlight for 3 days because of rain and my seedlings are getting rot and damping off (i think)so I added saaf fungicide a pinch in 1 ltr of water and given to the seedling but they are leggy how to save them? Can I grow without sunlight?
@GardeningUpbeat4 жыл бұрын
@TAQI AHMED NUMAN, Honestly saying...they are bit tricky and without Sunlight it won't be possible..they get leggy if there is no sunlight and when it happens, it's extremely difficult to shape the plants or they don't do well at later stage. I really need to look at them 3-4 times a day when they are seedlings (to check if everything is going okay) and things become bit easier after transplanting. Anyway, plz try to provide them more amount of sunlight, hope they would grow well and you can transplant successfully, Good luck :-)

4-5 inch pot is okay for one plant. Based on that, you can calculate the no..if I were you, I would have planted 10-12 to cover the pot nicely :-) By the way, 20 inch wider is fine..but plz avoid using pot with same depth, not needed as they are succulent. Roots won't reach to the bottom anyway...

@GardeningUpbeat3 жыл бұрын
@Larissa Lima, Most likely the problem is more water...you are right, they sprout quite nicely and then they start to damp off..I have experienced same in past. Proper water and light is very crucial at early stage. Bad things - too much sunlight, not enough sunlight, more water & bad soil media. If possible, please use very light soil media for sowing seeds and provide 2-3 hours of morning Sunlight. At the same time, please avoid watering heavily and use a sprayer just to sprinkle the water. I hope, that helps and if you have any questions, please let me know, thank you :-)
