I put essential oils (peppermint, tea tree and rosemary) in my oils and my scalp feels amazing. I look forward to oiling my scalp. I smell like the woods 😂 but it feels great! 🤣

On the 9th I'll be on week 4 of having my crochet braids in and my new growth is crazy. I plan on leaving them for another month. I spray my scalp with warm to hot water than apply my ayurvedic growth oil that way my pores are open receiving all the goodness. I do this 2-3 times a week. My hair is growing fast. I love it

@marianb2530
@marianb2530 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tips...do you clean or wash your braids? Or do you just wear them until it is time to take them down? The reason I ask is due to the frizz when I wash them. I prefer grease on my scalp, so do I just re-moisturize then seal? Or should I wash out due to the build up of grease?
@FinallyAmber
@FinallyAmber 4 жыл бұрын
I personally don't wash my braids unless I've swam in ocean water or a swimming pool between installations. Dry shampoo works well for light build up on braids if it's something you're concerned about but I personally use grease about once a week too and I don't experience any issues ❤️

@@FinallyAmber Thank you for your reply. I have tried using ACV awhile back, when I was experiencing very dry scalp, and it did not work out well. Perhaps I did not use it correctly b/c my ACV rinse out works great! I have less dandruff, but my scalp is a little itchy from products...I am okay. It is not intense. I may dilute my Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap and spray on my scalp.

How do u protect ur edges from being affected
@twill1007
@twill1007 3 жыл бұрын
Be sure you’re braids are not installed too tightly, every single strand of your edges doesn’t need to be braided, don’t pull them up or back too soon after getting them done and when you start styling them up or back, don’t do it the same direction a lot. Keep your edges moisturized. Sleep with a silk or satin scarf to keep your braids in place rather than pulling and all over the place. Hope this helps
@Gabe_Cross
@Gabe_Cross 2 жыл бұрын
I had a question. I have been wearing braids for years constantly with the only time I take them down being when I am washing it before getting my hair rebraided the next day. The braids or not tight or anything. Is it okay to do that, or should I leave my hair unbraided for a couple of weeks before getting it rebraided?
@rhodacm97
@rhodacm97 2 жыл бұрын
After you take down your Braids you should take a break for 1-2 weeks before you rebraid your hair again. It is not good to rebraid your hair directly after you take the Braids down. Because it is not healthy for your scalp, strains the hair and is also a pressure on the hair.

@@rhodacm97 Thank you for the reply. it is quite interesting that I have not heard anyone mention this. It was something I just started to become curious with. That has me wondering, though. What about people with what some call dreadlocks? Those are permanent, are they not?

@@Gabe_Cross Dreadlocks are not being taken down and reinstalled throughout the year. They grow directly out of the scalp so there's very little manipulation, pulling and tugging at the scalp. Braids are completely different!

@@sayitloudblcknproud True, they are different, but they are similar in some ways. They both have “locks” in which hair strands are grouped together. It is true that locks are not taken down, but hair is still being grouped together for dreadlocks each time new hair has grown a certain length. While locks win out in number of times the hair is manipulated, one thing about locks I feel is more of a concern is the possibility to apply more of a constant strain to the scalp. With locks, they usually hang from the scalp from a smaller surface area, while braids usually lay along the scalp for the most part.

Get a professional whitening treatment. My dentist said some ppl have a natural off white color just like natural hair color. Not all teeth are the same white but it's not a bad thing.
