GROW ONIONS FROM SEEDS AND BULBS | GROW ONIONS AT HOME | GROW GREEN ONIONS AT HOME | GREEN ONIONS
Onions are a cold-season crop, easy to grow because of their hardiness. By midsummer, you can begin harvesting individual onions! Learn more about planting, growing, and harvesting onions for an endless supply in your garden
There are three different categories of onions: short-day, long-day, and day-neutral.
If You live in Zone 7 and warmer, choose short-day onions, such as Red Burgundy, Red Creole, and Vidalia.
If you live in Zone 6 and colder, choose long-day onions, such as: Alisa Craig, Copra, and White Sweet Spanish.(14-16 hours).
You can grow day-neutral onions, such as Cabernet and Candy, in any growing zone (12-14 hours).

Hi. Small suggestion: I peeled the onions and placed them in a small tequila glass with the root end alone in water for 3 days and reached the shoot stage at day 55 ( 7:19 ) by the 5th day. I allowed the roots to develop in water then placed it in a self watering pot with potting soil.
@shravyavbhat6650

I think he typed day 55 instead of day 5. It won't take 55 days just to grow a little length of the shoots.

Just discovered your channel and am really enjoying the videos. I have a question: in your videos you always start with a soil mix that is suitable for the featured plant, what do you do with the soil after you harvest the crop? Do you reuse the soil in the same pot or you have a place to recycle the soil.
@urbangardeningofficial
@urbangardeningofficial 4 жыл бұрын
I normally use the same to grow another crop ...I did not repeat same crop with the same soil ...every time I re-use it ...I add 40-50% new compost into it
