My first gardening memory happened when I was maybe five. My late Dad let me help him in the garden, planting onion sets, much like the smallest onion sets you had shown. Like you, Daddy gave me a wooden ruler and said they had to be planted in a zig zag fashion, as you did. Giving me a pencil stub about 3" long, Dad said hold the metal ring, and poke a hole until your fingers around that ring touch the soil, then put the little onion in the hole gently patting the dirt down around it, thanking the Lord for the little onion. Then he taught me about the inches on the ruler, and told me to plant them in two rows in a zig zag pattern. Oh my goodness, how delighted I was to see the onions grow, and how proud I was when it was harvest time. So many lesson that day, that have stayed with me over five decades later. When my kiddos were small, I we planted onions together, and I shared the lessons their late Grandpa taught me. Sorry for the ramble, but this video brought back some sweet memories. Blessings and grace to you. :)

I was fortunate to have neighbors much like him. Knowledge like this just can't be bought, ANYWHERE, it has to be passed down from one generation to the next...so my children and I where the fortunate recipients of those generations worth of knowledge! I just can't be thankful enough for that, my girls and I will forevermore benefit from their generosity, and as they lived, the best way to "repay them, is to pay it forward, to use that Knowledge and to teach others to use it as well, to never let it die.

Those are the most beautiful onions I have ever seen and I eat onions every day lol. The Walla Walla are so very sweet but not as sweet as you two are. Your generosity is a gift to us that learn from you, or just enjoying watching you two grow and cook. The Lord bless you and keep you both in his loving care.

Fella, I have never in my life been so satisfied and fulfilled watching a onion video. You are so easy to listen to and learn from and you and you wife are just adorable. I been looking at onion videos for over 2 days trying to find exactly what you just taught me and you too the time to put ALL those videos from start to finish together for all of us. I just can't thank you enough for that. It was just what I needed tonight because i just got out of the hospital of 11 days and been doing a little research on my garden items while I have been resting up. You two are truly a blessed couple and all of us out here are blessed as well to have Y'all taking the time out to share your life with all of us. Defiantly a thumbs up and new subscriber here. Thank you Friend!

Hi! I have never gardened before in my life :-) I was going to try container gardening and have been looking for guidance which is how I came upon your "channel". I am so blessed to have found you for many reasons. Not only have you given me more courage to actually do this but your faith and love is truly inspiring. I have shared your Coronavirus Gardening Challenge on my Facebook page and hope others will try. Now, I have to get my Neem Oil, 5 gal food grade buckets, some potato seedlings (if i can find some - everyone is sold out) and plant those bush bean seeds I bought the other day. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! God bless you and your family.

Thank you!!! Me too. When folks are learning gardening I like to let them see the entire cycle as much as possible. I want them to know what to expect and watch for when they are growing something for the first time. Perhaps eliminate some of the trial and error we all experience. Hopefully this will encourage folks to garden with a little more confidence. It is really not complicated and very relaxing. Best of luck to you with your garden this year. Have a peaceful Easter Weekend 😇

If you ever visit the northwest, check the season... seek out Walla Walla onions at restaurants. The Burgerville chain uses only these sweet onions, to make the best onion rings you’ll ever have. Some people have these onions shipped to them after moving around the country. They are perfect for eating like an apple, too. I’m moving onto a larger property soon and hope to plant these ASAP.

Oh my goodness ! I just found you tonite and it had to be our Father who sent me. We are sitting and waiting for word about my nieghbor who was rushed to the hospital tonite. I saw your video on planting carrots in the buckets and decided to watch while I wait and pray for our friend. Your video is so sooothing, along with the music and the sweetness of you and your wife. You have comforted me in my waiting...you were truly sent by God this evening. I'm watching this video now and noticed from the comment that your son is now with the Lord. My heart goes out to you and your wife, we lost our son also. Not only have we been connected by gardening, but with our sorrows as well. Praise God that I met two wonderful, brother and sister, in Christ. I'm praying for you tonite. Thank you so much for making a stressful evening into a divine connection...Great Blessings to you both, JB

First video of yours I’ve seen. You truly are blessed... a green thumb. And the way your wife looks at you, she loves you.
