I donated 16 inches at The Great Cut. I’m fully embracing the awkward stage again and have no intentions of getting a haircut for a year. Then I’ll get it shaped up. The kolsch and cider at the great cut were really good, I got a healthy buzz going while standing in line for three hours! 😂

Hey man good luck on your journey of growing out your hair. I recently cut my hair for a role and it happened way faster than I was expecting and I like how I look but I miss my long hair, excited to see the tips for getting passed the awkward stage.

@@TheLonghairs can I ask I’m in the process of growing my hair . The dreaded awkward stage and so is my middle son who is 14 and we can never give blood but we want to give back . Is there a way maybe within two years we can give and have you start earning credit first the next event .my last little trim was just before Christmas and I hope not to cut my hair ipuntil I can donate it

I’m growing my hair back out again. So, what do you recommend? Her: come back in 4 weeks for another fade. 😂 Of course she would say that growing your hair out long, requires multiple haircuts. 🤦🏼‍♂️ terrible.

You do need to keep getting cuts throughout. By getting fades as your hair grows you’re letting the top grow longer and then when it’s reaching your ears you let the whole thing grow in. Also Shelby is a barber with over 20 years of experience and a Great Cut contributor. She knows what she’s doing.

Growing your hair out does not REQUIRE multiple haircuts, but if you want to keep your hair healthy and avoid split ends, trims during the growth process are absolutely necessary. An added bonus to getting regular cuts and trims while you grow it out is that you can play with new styles, and make the awkward stage a little less awkward. But if you wanna raw dog the awkward stage you can go right ahead! 🤣
