Growing my sides have been a challenge for me too man, Started last January 15 and things got so bad after 2 months when the taper hairs start growing out and showing. I stocked up on hats but its is indeed a humbling experience for me fasho. #8monthsandcounting 💪🏾

Got one hack , spray your hair wet on the sides /taper. Wear a Durag 20+ min. Now your hair is laid down en not bulky anymore.

I have grown out my undercut so many times and slowly lowered my undercut bit by bit. I have finally reached the last 2 -3 inches of bottom hai on the undercut. As a wavy hair peep with 2c and some 3a. Hair wraps are my best friend cause my hair only gets wide and frizzy

Im growing out my sides and im about a month and half in. I do have a kinda cheat code that I have being doing that may be helpful. So depending on where you live or whatnot it starts to get cold around Sept. I started growing my sides then so I could wear beanies outside and just wear my hair down.

Oh shit. I totally forgot about this comment. Well, I started in July 2023 (idk if the dates match the comment but that's when I started), and now it's March 4th, 2024. I can do cornrows now!! I actually did my first of 'rows a couple days ago. Please take this as a sign and GO FOR IT. GROW IT OUT. It's worth it. Sorry for the lengthy comment😅

I still have the full afro. Its 1.5 to 2 inches if length though. But i feel like with medium and high length hair, the fade will look better. Besides, curls on a fade look better than curls with the full afro. Should I do the fade? This seems like a pain

When you style your hair, like doing the shingling method or shake method for curls, to me it looks better with a fade instead of the full head of hair
