Yes, that is important. But other cuttings should also root, may be they take longer to root.

@@GardenTricks - I have 3 matured Persimmon trees, and 3 trees grown from seeds of 2919, I wonder when these trees bearing fruits, therefore I like to grow more trees from cuttings.
