I learned a lot from watching this. I also like the way you show things clearly and not too quickly and include every step.I pre-germinate the seeds - soak overnight in water, then place in a container with damp [not wet] paper towel, cover so it doesn't dry out - very soon there will be signs of germination with a tiny biti of white showing at which point move seeds to the growing medium. I'm saving a link to this to watch again later.

Thanks for this excellent and timely video. My seedlings are ready to be potted this week, and I have high hopes for them! Last year, I lost over 100 brassicas to pests and severe weather, and never got to see the end result. I will try to put the net up immediately as you showed. Any advice for keeping slugs and snails at bay?

Slugs and snails generally prefer soft green growth so I try not to plant out until the plants are a good size (slugs will murder seedlings). My problem is usually caterpillars - hence the netting to keep butterflies out.
