Green Magic is a good heat tolerant variety and faster maturing. Emerald Crown and Eastern Crown are also good heat tolerant varieties and faster maturing. If you want a slower variety, Use Imperial. Imperial has a great root system and utilizes nitrogen very efficiently. All these are from Sakata.

@@HomegrownFloridaZ9a It’s been dropped for a while so brassica seed has a good shelf life for about 5 years then it starts declining fast. Start trying those other varieties I suggested. They’re all pretty different animals. You can plant Green Magic and Imperial at the same time and they’ll come off about 10 days to 14 days apart. Most of the time. Emerald Crown will be about Green Magic speed. Maybe faster.

@Homegrown Florida I've heard that it really affects people's psyches when it does that. That people either don't sleep or they sleep too much and the drinking rate goes up a lot when it happens, same for the 24hr daylight in summers. People don't sleep and I've heard that the bars usually get a good bit more business during that time period. Very strange. I can see how it could get depressing and/or throw off your sleep or make you wanna possibly drink... and I'm sure if they're doing that usage of other things probably increases too. That would be so strange. 60 days of darkness. That's like straight out of a horror movie. In fact they made a movie about that where a bunch of vampires go to this little town up there and, well you can imagine what they do lol. It was a bit too gory for me.
