Just to let y'all know that I planted 10 tomato plants and I think 8 pepper plants with your fish head and guts recipe along with the lime blood and bone meal. They are still doing great!! Friends and neighbors can't believe how many I'm picking about every 3 days. I carry bags of them to the coffee shop and let them split them up. My wife carries bags to her work and I just picked around 30 peppers,cut them in half to stuff them tomorrow. We have probably 10 quart bags of stuffed peppers in the freezer. Seems like the more you pick, the more the plants put on. The peppers plants are about 5 feet tall and stalks like a broom handle! Same for the tomatoes. No telling how many I have picked this summer. Seems like the ripening has slowed but they are loaded with green ones. All of that being said, I want to thank you for the video! I have told folks about your channel and your recepie. I call them my "Indian tomatoes and Indian peppers". Definitely going try the same on my cucumber and squash next spring. Thanks again and God bless.

Hollis and Nancy, I love your videos. I have been with you guys from way back when and you’re my motivation. The boys went fishing and I took the guts for my tomato, but didn’t do the lime. You are so right because the raccoons dug them up that night. I now have four bags of lime stored. Thank you for the reminder and advice. Take care

I love the Cherokee Purple as well. Since you enjoy the smoky flavor profile of this one, I would suggest trying a Black Krim. Natural smoky, salty flavor. With all-day sun, mine turn completely black. I use it for homemade salsa, and it's great eating right off the vine or slicing for a smoky flavor in sandwiches.

I've been watching your channel for several years, so I was so glad to see you had moved to FL. I retired to Clay County in N/E Florida last year from KY, and gardening is VERY different here than it was in KY. Your channel is the only one I know that's filmed close to where I live.. The season is so much longer and hotter, and this sandy Florida soil definitely needs LOT of Black Kow. I'm curious why you space your tomatoes so far apart, though.
@TheasGarden3 жыл бұрын
It's probably to avoid cross contamination 😊
@HollisNancysHomestead3 жыл бұрын
To promote plenty of air flow between the plants. This Florida humidity will wreak havoc on the tomatoes if they are touching each other. Having space between the plants is also nice when you want to walk around them and harvest a basket full. The spacing also facilitates applications of BT when the tomato hornworm shows up.

Dont forget our videos are progression videos. They take many months to create then we have to edit them. We release them at the applicable season such as spring of fall. This video was created in the spring of 2021. It took 4 months to build then it went to the editing que. by the time it was uploaded to KZbin it was going into late fall of 2021 so we hold it until the spring of 2022 to release it. This is in an effort to produce a full video and release it at the correct time of the year in lieu of creating videos that are continued to multiple parts. Most folks prefer to get the entire process all on one video. Progression videos are extremely difficult to produce. That’s why most KZbin Channels don’t do them. It’s not cost effective at all. A single full progression video only makes revenue one time as compared to a multiple video on the same plant. We would rather give our subscribers the entire story in a single episode even it we loose money on it. 😂

The filming isn’t so bad….it’s storage of all that data. When several videos start accumulating we run out of space on our hard drive quick. Nancy has several external hard drives she has to keep track of. File maintenance is very challenging 😂😂

@HollisNancysHomestead Жыл бұрын
No, I don’t think so. We only have ads at the front of a video. We don’t interrupt the video for more adds durning the video. I see many videos with adds at the beginning, twice during the content. That is what I would call ridiculous. We have to make a living. If you don’t like adds you can always pay KZbin for add free content only. If not, enjoy our free videos.
