You are so natural and informative. I love VFTs and am glad JL have featured them and hope other people will watch this and learn how to care for them properly!

Thank you for the introduction video. I've just bought a Venus fly trap from yourselves and looking forward to a successful time with it and hopefully be able to take cuttings in the future once its big enough

So, I have no idea about anything else but I have some sundews, capensis.. I reported then into a 50-50 mix of perlite and blended up sphagnum moss. Also most to the point of powder but it looks similar size to normal porridge oats. They have been losing it so far after about 3 months. They are under lights and have been divided a few times. I would love to see you trial peat alternatives. Fine coco coir I've heard can be good as long as it's had the salt washed out which, the slightly more expensive stuff has. Thanks for the video.

I would like to set up a bog garden for Canivourus plants but peat is no longer available. The Canivourus plant growing medium I've seen on sale locally is for a single pot and too expensive. Could I leave commercial ericaceous compost out in the rain over winter for the nutrients to leach away and use that next year? Are there bulk bags of Canivourus plant medium available at prices similar to normal composts?

Hi Peat is still available at some smaller garden centres and specialist nurseries also online

I have massive success with sundews for many years, by using boiled water allowed to cool down. I probably have hundreds growing splendidly, however I have always had disastrous results with the Venus using the same technique. Are they much more sensitive to water?
