Spray the flower with hairspray when it blooms. It will seal in the smell, and the flower will actually stay pretty for an extra week or two and the smell will dissapear completely. I live in N. Florida and actually have a basement that has been converted into a hydroponic grow room. Have plans for a fish pond to feed my vegetables. The Corpse plant is one of my favorite plants. I was lucky enough to be given a couple of corms from award winning Audrey 2. I just love em!!! Post script, I love the way he says, "root" 😃😆

How do you know so much about these plants? Awesome!

My mother started her voodoo lily garden 20 yrs ago. They survive in the ground through the sometimes Jan subzero temps in Northern VA. Multiplies quickly and grows best in a shaded area.

That's REALLY interesting! I'm not sure if I'd want one of those in my home, but I admire him for committing to it.

The smell is actually sweat. Just triggers your "There is a dead rat" but once you rationalise that away the sweetness is left.

This looks like a Chicago neighborhood. I do have now about 20 of these 3 inches wide. I think they will bloom anyway. Covering in plastic indoors. Hmmm... 10:36 mentioned Chicago. So I was right. Architecture is distinctive. Coincidentally we got a tornado down our own street in suburb from the same storm 2020.

A question I have that I've been unable to find an answer to, is about how far away is the smell noticeable? Like will my neighbors be upset with me, or can only smell within a distance, and roughly what is that distance?
@MattGriffo7 ай бұрын
I haven’t smelled one of them while they are in that state, so I’m unsure, but from what he said to me, it’s pretty fragrant so I would think a next door neighbor 50 feet away would be safe, but not at 10 feet away

I have had mine for 3 or 4 years, I was warned it would stink when it eventually blooms but it’s no where near blooming. Being in Ohio I let the stems die off then bring the bulb in and plant again in the spring, so should not let it die off in the winter? Do I have to keep it alive in order for it to bloom or is it just to young? Or both? Lol sorry. I’ve been waiting a long time for this thing to flower.

You're doing everything right. Each year the corm grows a little bigger. It will take years for it to bloom. I've seen corms that weigh over a hundred pounds that have yet to bloom. That's why photographers from all over the world will come to take pictures when a Titan blooms...

I had loads of them that the previous owner planted at the entrance to the house! I've dug most of them out and chucked them in the bin! Disgusting things!
