So first week just used a cleaner and moisturizer no shaving. 2nd week went with the kit, beard growth oil, beard growth spray, derma roller, and beard wash. Trimmed the very bottom of my neck line. Video was right on the money for me. This is where I decided I was going straight to the rogaine foam to target the patchy areas. Hopefully, it will turn out right.

I've honestly never had that much of a problem with the "beard itch." Just mainly occasional acne or the one ingrown hair on the neck that sprouts up for some reason. Interestingly enough, it seems that shaving regularly keeps the ingrowns down more than not shaving. I'd think it would be the opposite as the hair is getting a break.

Jack - agree that showing intentionality while growing out your beard, keeps you from looking too scruffy Trimming your neck line shows that you are purposefully growing a beard, instead of just "not shaving" and helps give your beard shape while it's growing out Always fun to watch these series

I’m in week 3 and wanted to clean up my neckline because my work made a comment about not looking professional. I'm really considering shaving off my beard after maintaining it for 13 years. Last time I was "naked-faced" it was 2006 and it was my grandmothers funeral. What i do is a heavy stubble in the form of a boxed beard with a low cheekline. Sorta like Jonathan Frakes when he played Will Riker in TNG. For the boxed beard (heavy stubble), i shave the neckline two finger's width below my chin, instead of two finger's width above the Adams Apple. That and Cremo's "Beard and Scruff Cream" makes dealing with having heavy stubble much easier.

Wesley Nixon I am 21 as well Wesley. Just keep on growing! People will ask questions and you will ask yourself questions, just grow it and don’t touch it. I personally shave under my neck, similar to what Jack said above the adam’s apple, but that’s because it looks terrible and my boss didn’t like it. Either way, just grow it, have fun, and stay confident! It may lead to something in the future like a mustache or goatee or nice beard

Just do it. If it is well kept it will be great. chicks (or whatever you are in to) will dig it. If you don’t keep it trimmed or well kept it will have the opposite effect.

I use a straight, alternating between a real straight and Feather artist club. I use pre shave oil and Prorasso. No irritation. A double edge with a feather blade works just as good, for me anyway.

Look at your father. Can he grow a beard? If not, then you may genetically not be able to grow one. Give it time. Beards can grow patchy sometime. Try it for the month. If it's still not growing then unfortunately you may not be able to. Also some men don't get their full beards until they get to 30s.

I wash my beard everyday with Head & Shoulders shampoo. Never gets itchy. Got the tip from a guy with a massive healthy looking beard. Also I have oily skin too, so that might help also.

Jesus. I've been trying for 3 MONTHS and his 2 week beard looks a million times better than mine. I wish I could get mine to grow in decently cause I already shave my head, so I feel like I need some sort of facial hair so my whole head doesn't just look like a thumb with eyes, but my goatee part grows really light and a bit off center so i can't do just that and I have major bald spots under my bottom lip, and acne popping up under the hair. Make sure you wash your hands good before you apply any kind of beard oil to your face. Any bacteria on your hands can cause irritation, acne and skin infections.

I've been bearded for about a decade. I wouldn't prefer being any other way. And I must say that I do not understand why more men do not have them, nor why many in society seem to look down on them - considering them slovenly, unprofessional, or what have you. Nor do I get the stubble trend. Many think that looks stylish, but to me it looks unkempt. When I see it I'm like: "Either grow it out or shave it off."
