Used to play every Friday at a friends house. After a few weeks of playing there, a mutual friend revealed a tell to me which was a kind of deep breath or sigh when he had a good hand. After about 15 weeks in a row of destroying him I finally told him how I kept beating him. He was shocked at how obvious it was and that I was the only one who picked up on it. So people do subconsciously give information like Daniel says. Pay attention and watch for this type of stuff.

I'm curious to know how this works. How did you destroy him if he already had a good hand?
@randallmartin2508
@randallmartin2508 Жыл бұрын
@@kaymadd because I knew when to fold when he had a very good hand, and when he raised without his tell and other people folded, I knew I could raise him and he would fold. Or I could call his big raise and beat him if he didn’t give his tell. So it kept me from losing to his big hands, and let me call or raise his bad ones.

My favorite table talk moment in Poker was this hand where Daniel was in a hand with Scott Seiver, and Scott was so casually brazen with his comments on the hand, and Daniel accused Scott of speaking in riddles. I can’t find the clip but it’s glorious.

You're just naive buddy, it's all an act this charming persona for the cameras. Now imagine if you're wrong about DN (and you are) how many other people/figures/ideas you have been duped into believing were for a good/just cause? The wolves come dressed in sheeps clothing. Might need to go back and brush up on Little Red Riding Hood buddy.

5:12 In Maverick, Annabelle gets busted out and Maverick tells her that she holds her breath when she bluffs and everybody, good guys and bad guys, acknowledge this, the joke being that, even though we didn't see it, the rest of the players figured it out. Tabletop game like poker and chess are hard to put in movies because they're not action oriented and involve a level of intricacy that's hard to visualize, although Rounders did it really well.

I was thinking the same. I watched his vlogs over 2-3 days straight when I had Covid. I was getting irritated with him constantly screaming about never winning a flip. When he would win 3 in a row and then lose 1.

Watch their eyes during the flop....the cards will still be on the table for you to see after...I always watch my opponent during the flop and I never stare at the board during the flop because it gives away info....when a card connects there is almost ALWAYS a tell

I would drink water if I didn’t care about the hand like I am not trying to bluff or hoping for a certain card but if I wasn bluffing or hoping for a card to hit then I wouldn’t drink because I would be too focused.. it would be a bad tell I think

Drinking water in general is a pretty common tell for being relaxed. It even shows up in stuff like Chess. It's pretty frequent that towards the end of a difficult game, once the player has reached an easy win / has saved a losing game - they will take a drink of water.

Daniel is leaving out everything about the bets the player is making, determining their range of hands, etc. I'm sure these kinds of physical and verbal tells have value, but they're not the primary thing.
