What is the importance of using toner as the solvent instead of deionized water, or a tea, or distillate, or other extract?
@EssentialLabsOfficial4 жыл бұрын
It depends on the ingredients and the purpose behind what you’re using the mask for. Teas can provide antioxidants and tannins, but toners can provide antioxidants too, depending on the toner.

Hello! I saw your other video where you make hydrogels using Gelatin. My question is, what is the difference between using Agar vs. using Gelatin? Does the gelatin act as a hydrogel by absorbing the active ingredient and the Agar doesn't and its just a solid mask? Or what's the difference? Thank you for your video
@areljohnson13 жыл бұрын
There is a few differences, agar agar is plant based and has a natural moisturizing factor. It cannot be as easily reset multiple times (without having a thickening agent maybe but haven't seen many examples...where gelatin can and is usually made from animals. Agar agar doesn't keep as long as gelatin without preservatives. They both have less than week shelf life usually but it varies? Gelatin is basically cooked collagen, it does soften skin topically but that's about it. Collagen is best for beauty when being ingested. You can Google topical vs orally? Hopefully that helps....just a few things from making diy face masks at home

Loved Ur video.. Is their any chance that you would many substitutions and uses of the products used?
@EssentialLabsOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Hi there, I'm not too sure what you may be asking, but I'll try an improvise. Agar Agar is what forms the gel, but feel free to get creative with the other ingredients as they can be substituted.

What are the measurements for the ingredients? Does it matter?
@Hollywoodlpc5 жыл бұрын
No matter how thin I make the sheet the mask breaks. I’ve tried with sodium alignate , xantham gum, guar gum with the same result. After a bit more research I think I’ll add plant cellulose. Do you think that will keep it together?
@EssentialLabsOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Hi Annastazia! You can only use Agar Agar. The the other gums will not form a gel like the Agar Agar will.
@Hollywoodlpc5 жыл бұрын
what can i add to it to make it more solid so the mask wont break? or could i use less water@@EssentialLabsOfficial
@markwyn20404 жыл бұрын
Try using glycerine in your mixture; it’ll keep things pliable and incidentally keep it from drying out prematurely.

Hi Mechel, great question! You should avoid folding them, but you can certainly try rolling them. I'm not too sure how they are going to hold up, but it doesn't hurt to try!

Put sugar and milk in it, you can eat it after masking your face.
